These are pretty useless due to their size and the opening to fill them up again, get the 800ml at woolies when it's on special for $3

Cue the "i buy it for the bottle" and "tap water is cheaper" comments.

  • -7

$5.33 per litre for water? How is that a bargain?

    • +2

Not sure why you got downvoted, bottled water is a rip-off.

    • +5

alot of people buy it and just refil the bottle. it's better than a plastic bottle and will last alot longer

      • -2

alot of people buy it and just refil the bottle.

Why would you want to refill 375ml of water? It's only 1.5 cups.

        • +2

Why do they sell cans/bottles of soft drink & beer in this size and smaller (330mL) then?

        • -1

          @WatchNerd:

Hopefully most people drink at least 8 cups of water per day and not 8 cups of soft drink & beer.

        • +1

@jv: Hence why you would be refilling it.

        • @WatchNerd:

Well at least you'd be getting more exercise then having to refill it every 30 minutes.

        • +3

It's 375ml so it can hold a can of Coke. Makes it healthier.

        • +3

My commute is only 70 minutes, so one and a half cups is enough water for that. I can top it up at work for the commute home again.

      • Until you drop it.

        • +1

Some goes with iPads, iPhones, and Faberge egg.

        • @AustriaBargain: those won't have condensation due to containing the chilled water that people need to drink for some reason so will be easier to hold.

  • What's the deal here? The plastic container or the water?

    • +12

The bottle is made of glass

      • The ones on special last week were made of plastic :( I was quite disappointed when I picked one up and I could squeeze it.

I never knew they made a plastic version.

        • Really? I never see the plastic one. Are you sure if they are Voss? I quickly checked their official website but no plastic. You may get the rare Voss bottle.

        • @kendo:
It was at woollies. They were right next to the Voss, same colour/style/size and definitely plastic. But you may be right as I didn't check the name of it.

(that bloody woollies doesn't have any 2 seater trolleys so I get a bit distracted trying to keep 2 toddlers under control, it's not a bloody playground! At least it doesn't affect my ability to find the bargains, that's the number one priority, lol :) )
          /rant lol

        • @RohBoat:

I saw the plastic ones as well a few weeeks ago. It looked like glass until I actually grabbed it.

I think they also import the Chinese fake ones, "Woss". The logo is similar but the bottle is plastic.

        • @chalky: I was quite disappointed when the bottle compressed when I picked it up. No wonder those ones were half price!

What is so special about this water?

    • The bottle is glass, so they're easy to clean and reuse.

$2 for a glass bottel is the bargain?? is it really a bargain? As you can buy $1 glass bottles from IKEA..

        • +3

No idea, I've got no qualms with refilling PET.

        • IKEA sell $1 glass bottle? You not taking about this, do you http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/00213558/?

Those bottles are the worst, the neck is so skinny so it's really hard to just turn the tap to full speed to fill it up quickly. And because the neck is skinny it's hard to empty and clean, you fill it with water to rinse it out and have to stand there while it goes "glug glug glug", and all those fiddly bits on top get dirty easily and are hard to just wipe down. The Voss bottles have their own problems, if the cap is tightened too much then it can be hard for weaker adults and children to open it.

      • The opening is too small to clean, what do you use to clean it, a bottle brush?

        • Boiling water and some detergent.

        • What, just shake it around or something?
Might try that tonight when doing the dishes. Put boiling water, detergent and dishes in sink then give it a good stir.
I am always looking for new ideas to get out of doing them!

    • its amazing ….best water as voted by several consumer watchdog aficionados

I got one, now i have a spare bottle to use when I want to clean my anus during work after taking a dump

    • +1

      You shouldn't be on OzBargain

      • +3

Is cleaning your arse a crime in here?

        • It is if you use bottled water.

        • Just use the bottle with re-filled water though, sorry, didnt mean to come across as arrogant implying i use bottled water for my butthole

        • So you use the bottles as a sort of portable bidet? Do you have some kind of attachment or hand pump to go with it, how do you actually get the water to squirt onto your ass?

        • +1

@AustriaBargain: nope, that contraption would look odd carrying it across the office. I used to have a Gatorade 1lt bottle, worked great, bigger hole, more flow of water.

  • Just in case anyone here cares about PH level/acidity of this bottled water:

Not sure how reliable this is but here it is anyway.

  • best water eva fullstop.

  • Can anyone confirm this deal isn't online only? I bought in store and scanned $3.05.

  • got one thanks.

I like this size. it's big enough to quench my thirst but small enough to be portable.
