Motorola Moto G5 Plus 32GB/4GB RAM $429 Shipped at Mobileciti

150

While still on the hunt for the 32GB version from a bricks and mortar store, came across this. While the 16GB with 3GB ram version is available in stores, the 32GB is still a Motorola website exclusive at $449 and the grey version is a couple of weeks wait too.

This is the 32Gb/4Gb, the other model is 16Gb/3Gb.
    The G4Plus had 32/3 and 16/2 combos. I have the G4Plus 32/3.

Edit: I only recently bought my G4 Plus, wish I had done some research and waited to get this instead. Either way, I'm happy with my G4 Plus 32Gb/3Gb that I got from MobileCiti, they are easy to deal with.

    • Ditto, I hadn't considered how close the G5 models were to release. I can't say I would have jumped on this right away though, as I got mine from mobileciti's eBay store when there was a $100 voucher off $300+ plus purchase at the time. The inclusion of NFC does hurt a little though….not that I've been itching to use NFC for anything in particular.

  • Note this is a Pre-Order for 17 May.

Waiting for hardly normal to get this phone so I can use my amex $50 off $350 deal.

I can't decide on this model or the Z Play. I think the Z Play has a better screen and is slightly bigger at 5.5" instead of 5.2. I should have jumped on the Z Play Good Guys deal a few weeks back!

I've had my Z Play for a few weeks now and having a phone you never have to worry about charging during the day makes such a difference in using a phone.

      • Is the Z Play dual SIM with a separate slot for microSD card?

      • The finger print sensor on the G5 Plus doubles as home, back and app list keys instead of using the on-screen buttons. Do you know if the Z Play's finger print sensor has this feature? Apparently it is enabled through some Moto app I think.

Good Guys phone is the 16GB/2GB edition.

The key distinguishing features of this mid-range phone are:
      * Both SIM slots and the microSD card slot can be used at the same time. Most dual SIM phones make you choose between a second SIM or a microSD card.
      * Band 28
      * NFC (note that reader is located on the front close to the moto logo)
      * Close to vanilla Android 7

In my opinion the biggest omission is the use of microUSB port instead of USB-C.

      • Forgot to mention one other feature:
        * Gestures on the finger print reader are brilliant! They replace the three standard onscreen buttons in most scenarios.

      • Is the phone dual sim by default?

        • Yes. I'm not aware of a single SIM model.

        • only the USA model might be single sim i think

    • the deal is for the 4gb version versus TGG's is for 3gb.

      • So TGG haven't corrected their listing? It says Internal Storage:32GB under item specifics

        • Just checked phone I purchsed from Good Guys last week for $322.20. It is 16GB ROM (storage) / 3GB RAM. At that point in time the specifications were very limited.

I would report it as an error, but I couldn't find an easy way to do that.

My understanding is that it 32GB/4GB is only available in Australia directly from Motorola, however MobileCiti do state it is 100% Australian stock.

        • @mathew42: May give you grounds to try claim a further discount or return if not satisfied….if they aren't switched on enough that the extra details were put up later

        • @Sammyboy: The $322.20 price was only available for a few hours. I suspect the discount on all Moto phones was an error because someone didn't realise the Moto G5 was being released that week.

I'm happy with the price and the phone.

    • waiting for the same phone in Harvey norman so we can price match and buy with the AMEX

    • Edit: refreshed :p

  • Don't think HN will sell G5 plus 32/4 version. But I will wait for eBay promotion then buy from Mobileciti eBay store.

    • been in store yes then can order the 32/4 version
and moto site lists them as a stockist

  • Tempppptttingggg! Never dealt with Mobileciti for warranty though.

Would they warranty themselves or do we go via Motorola Australia? If it's some export warranty then PASS.

    • +1

Claims to be 100% Australian stock so should be covered by Motorola Australia warranty.

    • Damn, why can't we get the US version, 64G/4G!

      PS: I'm still procrastinating!

      • +1

The US version doesn't have NFC. Many in US are asking why can't we have the international version?

        • Ohhhh didn't realise that! Every phone should be mandated to have NFC these days! Google should enforce it as standard! 32GB is fine then :D

        • @downforce:
isn't sd card is cheaper then factory ram anyway even if you chase down the wizz bang fast one @128gb

  • Would any experts know whether this can be used for OW PB?
