@TA can you ask if mobilecity can sell huawei w1 at similar price like Telstra this afternoon?

    • +1

      awr cheeepR

    • This please. Missed out. My Moto 360 is on it last legs.

      • Yeah let's do group buying so mobileciti can negotiate with huawei.

        • +1

Haha lets do it. However I highly doubt that Mobileciti can come close to the price that Telstra shop was offering.

EDIT: Saw the price that MobileCiti was selling for….it $389. Doubt they knock off $300.

        • @RichardL: well if Telstra can, huawei can try.
Oh not expecting $88, maybe the original Telstra price ie $111

Heck,im happy to pay $130 plus shipping. But not 389.

Remember the discount code was from ebay.

        • +1

@dragonindespair: I think Telstra was just clearing out stock, hence the lowered price. But one can always hope =).

    • I got blue balls from that deal. If only my phone loaded faster!

  • +2

Woohoo. Just ordered moto G5 4/32. It's been impossible to find stock, let alone at less than RRP. Thank you Mr tightarse

    Best S8+ price?

    • +2

      Hi Godric,

All our S8+ are currently at $1324, which works out to be $1191.6 after the 10% off. Links: Black, Gold, Grey. Thanks

    • Too bad you missed the 15% off site wide from ebay, I paid $1131 for S8+ from them 2 days ago

  • +5

iPhone SE 32GB is $100 more than OW/JB/Telstra etc are flogging it for. Also, lots of their strike through prices seem vastly inflated ie Apple Watch 38mm "was" $699 now $399…which is the same as Apple's retail price.

      • +3

While I've purchased from Mobicity before and have been happy with the prices, Sir Casm has a valid point here.

For example, When did you last sell this for $699?

        https://www.mobileciti.com.au/apple-watch-38mm-stainless-ste…

You can't, it hasn't been sold at $699 for a long time. The law says that it has to be sold immediately before the sale price at the higher price. The RRP from ages ago is irrelevant, it's illegal to use comparisons against the RRP if the product has not sold at that price

        https://www.accc.gov.au/business/pricing-surcharging/display…

Here is the part you need to know

Statements such as 'Was $150/Now $100' or '$150 Now $100' are likely to be misleading if products have not been sold at the specified 'before' or 'strike through' prices in a reasonable period immediately before the sale commences.

Curious to know the justification for this? What's wrong with advertising the actual discount that buyers are getting?

It's a shame you feel the need to do this, you have some pretty good prices, but if that's your attitude to the law then this sort of advertising makes me think twice about buying from you.

        • +1

Don't expect an answer mate, they rely on the apathy of users and the ACCC to get away with dodgy pricing - not sure why I copped a couple of negs for pointing out this frustrating & sneaky aspect of e-commerce, I think it's important that everyone is aware of which merchants are using shonky tactics!

        • @Sir Casm: absolutely agree. It is now completely illegal to have a pricing comparison where a product has not been sold (for the higher price) immediately before the sales period.

Even after pointing it out, the old RRP remains on their website. no response.

A 15% off Ebay deal would work out cheaper for most models but… a bird in the hand…

Guys just be careful when buying from this mob. Just in case you end up with a warranty claim you will be left on your own to chase it up. They (Mobileciti) do not know Australian consumer law. I had an issue and went to their office in Parramatta and after waiting for 30 mins was given an address to take it to.

Yeah they have been in business 18 years but still don't know ACL

    • -1

So did you tell them the law? They can't send you somewhere else.

    • +4

      same story again.

    • +5

      Hi Eneloop,

You've commented something similar in many of Mobileciti's most recent deal posts. We have tried our best to contact you to help you out to resolve the issue, but I don't understand why you continue to refuse our help and make another comment in the next deal?

We've already made it clear multiple times that we follow ACL. Although we recommend that you take it to the manufacturer directly as we believe it's faster (you send to manufacturer, they send it back after its fixed) than letting us handle it as the middleman (you send to us, we send to manufacturer, manufacturer sends back to us, we send back to you), we will never refuse to handle the warranty under ACL obligations. It is the buyers choice who handles the warranty, many customers prefer us to handle the warranty which we will do, but most customers prefer handling the warranty themselves as they find it quicker and easier.

Once again I'm sorry you had this issue, and I really want to help you resolve it. Can you please pm me so I will try my best to help you out? Thank you.

      • +1

I'd prefer to get my problem sorted if I have made the effort of turning up at your store, it's a pain in the ass to have to go elsewhere so I get where eneloop comes from.

        • -4

I think manufacturer warranty you have to contact the manufacturer. Even Harvey Norman, The Good Guys will tell you the same thing unless it is within a week or two I think.

        • +2

@superforever: Law says the retailer is responsible for the consumer guarantees under the ACL. They cannot send you away, that's against the law. A store is also responsible for dealing with any repairs in a reasonable timeframe.

If you wish, you may try and take it to the manufacturer. But a store cannot refuse to help you if you are within the period that the product is reasonably expected to last.

        • @ChickenTalon:

As they said they can send it out to manufacturer for eneloop but it would be faster if he contact the manufacturer directly.

        • Hi Itjaris

Understand where you coming from, sometime our team just provide suggestion base on what we think is the best and easy/quickest way to process warranty, we would never refused any returns. feel free to review our ebay feedback, product reviews and google customer reviews.

In additional we also have dedicated rep in ozbargain, anychance if you not satisfied with outcome (online CS or store staff) feel free to PM myself, will definately try my best to review the case and provide different solution

      • -4

Your a joke mate, when did you try and contact me. Please leave my details here on the number and email you tried on. I'm happy to give out my details just to show people how much of a liar you are.

I did tell them the law and the guy didn't really care. The only time they give a shit is when you post on a public forum and then all the English speaking people Miraculously appear.

I also want tighass or whoever owns this website to go I to my messages and see if I received anything from them

        • +1

I also want tighass or whoever owns this website….

          Lol

    • +1

This person is a broken record. Every Mobileciti deal you post the same crap.

Grow a pair. Either take it to the manufacturer/repairer yourself like Mobileciti suggested as it's quicker, or demand they return it for you under ACL. They have offered to help you before but rather than act like an adult you prefer to whine… Over and over again.

      • -1

I will keep posting like a disclaimer on here till they sought their shit out. Go onto the whirlpool Huawei Nexus 6P thread and see what's going on with Mobileciti.

        • Live your life and get over it mate, it is a phone, don't deal with these guys then instead of sounding like a broken record on every post they make.

Contacting the manufacturer directly will always guarantee you get a faster turn around. I had a broken Samsung fridge I bought from Good Guys, do I call Good Guys? Well I could, but it means they call Samsung on your behalf and then Samsung calls you to sort out things. I called Samsung directly told them the fault and was repaired within the week. Same thing applies to phones.

In fact I had a faulty modem returned to MSY, they gave me two options leave it with them or sort it out directly with manufacturer. I decided to leave with them, the turn around ended up being 6 weeks whereas if I had sent it directly to the manufacturer I would have received a replacement within 2 weeks.

The truth is unless you are dealing with larger companies like JB they always will have a warranty policy that involves sending back to the manufacturer. JB has enough inventory and buying power to just swap faulty items on the spot if the fault is obvious.

You may not like what I tell you since you seem to be the vindictive type, but just move on to bigger and better things in life.

        • -3

          @azukay:

Mate with that attitude you will always be treated like a mug.

        • +3

          @eneloop:

No, with your attitude you never get anywhere in life.

I'm sorry if I am realistic with how businesses work and the amount of unreasonable customers there are. You probably have no idea how warranties play out in the background. Also as the reps have said, you a refusing to communicate with the business even though they have reached out to you to clarify things.

The only mug is you, no businesses will want to deal with a person such as yourself.

Personally I have no zero issues getting warranty repairs anywhere even if I am just a few weeks out of warranty, you know why? I communicate effectively with the manufacturer, I don't throw accusations around, I don't go online and slander businesses. You wonder why people won't like to deal with you. You are just like the boy who cried wolf. No one will take you seriously.

Had a similar thing happen when I bought my HTC One X a few years back, though I haven't dealt with them recently.

S8 for $1007? This was <$950 last night with the ebay 15% off sale (for Australian stock from mobileciti). Alternatively it was $850 for imported stock from kogan ebay store.

    • I didn't even buy it when it was $967 with a 20% ebay code. It's too expensive for a smartphone and my Galaxy s? still in excellent condition. I'd like to buy a cheap smartwatch for $88 which I missed out this afternoon.

    • @Brucelamao

      S8 was $977.33

    Is the G5+ Australian stock?

I ask as Motorola have said they are the only place to buy the 32/4 from so how is it here?

    • Mobliciti states the G5plus is aus stock that has 12months warranty. I would have thought aus stock has 2 year warranty.
