Both kogan and Lyberia? Libera? Lyca? Lebera? Ah screw it.
Both ^ those companys offer better deals…

I found that you can't use a lebara SIM card in a mobile broadband… unsure about the others

      • +7

        Why not?
Just change APN settings on your device.

        • how did i miss that. thanks a lot mate

        • No worries.
I am always happy to help.
Shoot me if you have any other questions…

          @0p:

That last line, I say the same thing to my wife sometimes :)

        • LoL.
I meant shoot me if you have any questions in a pm.

If you play your cards right, you can maximise the discount

In total $44.60 or $59.60 for ~ 6 months of prepaid mobile

      • +1

Do you know how long we have to activate sim for Kogan and Lebara $4.90 deals? My relatives are coming in July. Can I buy now and activate 1st July?

        • +1

with kogan: offer expires MAY 31ST, 2017 AT 11:59PM AEST
with lebara: purchase online on or before 16/05/17 and activated within 60 days

so lebara would be the best option for you

        • @easternculture:

Thats the date until when offer is available. How long can I delay to activate sim? any idea?

        • @amsaini15:

lebara is the best option for you

      • Only amaysim offer unlimited calls overseas. Le Bear long gives us 250 mins on that deal. But for 5 bucks you can't complain.

        • Le Bear long has been one of the cheapest options in Europe for a while now. It's nice to see them more competitive here as well.

      • still using my Kogan $1 vouchers.

        • Now $4.90
          :\

  • +1

Does this mean you have to use all 3 renewals by 23 June?

    • +1

im of the impression you just need to activate the first months offer by the 23 June 2017

    • +1

Only activate once and the renewals are automatic

      • so not really 3 renewals, just 3x sequential 28 day cycles.
ie. there are not three renewal vouchers to be entered within 12-18 months

        • Most likely you would see credit applied for 3 months me thinks

  • +1

couple of questions… is this cashrewards? Also if you click on the referral link, does this give you discount? and finally…. does anyone have a discount code? Could you combine all of this to maximise the discount?

    • +1

      is this cashrewards?

Yes you get cashback with this

Also if you click on the referral link, does this give you discount?

Im guessing you are referring to the amaysim referral for a free $10 credit, if so yes you still get that too

  • also one other question…. Im currently with amaysim, do I need to port the number? I didn't read T&C before purchasing, not that its a bad thing just a little more complex I guess

  • +6

Amaysim put me off with their greedy 28 day monthly cycles. Pay 13 months for a year.

    • +2

well even telstra are doing 28 days now on the prepaid plus plans and so is optus and even vodafone on the $30 plan and virgin mobile so looks like all the phone companies are greedy, not just amaysim

      • I know, all the big names do it. Amaysim use to have 30 day cycles but then changed so did I. I'm on the hunt for something new like kogan.

I don't think people are aware of the 28day cycle = 13 months for a year like I was initially.

      • +1

With Telstra if you use their automatic top up it lasts for a whole month.

    • I reckon they figure that if we get paid every 14 days, pay our rent every 14 days then they too, can charge us every 14 days. In England, we do it on a monthly system. So was surprised when I was told my payments were to come out every 28 days instead of the usual 30 to 31. Consumer protection, where art thou?

  • +4

28 day billing cycles. No thanks. I don't care if they were less than others. It's time consumers sent these scumbag telcos a message that 28 day billing cycles are bullshit and not buy into them.

What next? 21 day billing cycles?

    • +1

Yeah, agreed 28 days billing cycle is crap, but i'm gonna bite as 45 bucks (+ CR) for 84 days isn't too bad for 7GB a cycle.
Im a Vaya customer, and not happy they are stiffing existing customers of late…..Will port out to someone else at the end of this offer. Unfortunately, Vodaphone coverage is non existent where i live (tried the Kogan $1 offer a while back, and it was bad).

      • They aren’t to bad a deal. I cant dispute that. But i knew as soon as one scumbag telco pushed this, all the rest would follow. I was an Amaysim customer and i moved out as soon as they moved to 28 day billing. The only reason it exists is because customers just say.. "oh well, guess I'll have to put up with it…"

        • I was an Amaysim customer and i moved out as soon as they moved to 28 day billing

Who did you move too? Was it any cheaper than amaysim?

        • @sp00ker: moved to Aldi mobile and never been happier. I think I pay $25 for 30 days, 2.25g of data that gets rolled over each month and unlimited calls and SMS, as well as 100 mins of overseas calls, all on the Telstra resale network instead of shitty Optus.

          Aldi mobile L value pack

InB4: omg, that's not the best deal, rah rah… it works for me and it's not 28 days. I just don't care about phone plans, all I care is that they aren't 28 days…

        • @pegaxs: They don't have unlimited calls to overseas countries. So for the extra $5, for 3gb & unlimited intl calls (10 countries), I'd choose them anyday.

  • I have tried to purchase 1x of the 7GB/3 months but it keeps saying your order exceeds limit or something. I can't even buy 1! I tried a different browser too. Not good.

  • Like it…. UNLIMITED 1.5GB!

  • Amaysim is back on OZBargain and is not better than previous deals. Thanks OP anyway.

  • So looks like, best plan of attack is port to:

Kogan Mobile Prepaid EXTRA LARGE (30 Days | 14GB) for $4.90

    Then port to:

    Lebara (30 Days | 5GB) for $16.58

So works out to be $15.58 for 13 months.

  • I can't find anywhere to pop the FRENZY code into!

    • Edit: Nm, it has now expired.

  • I'm having difficulties with this porting out thing.
So as someone who is already on Amaysim, do i do this:
    1. Order a sim card from one of the sites above listed by easternculture
    2. Place your groupon order
    3. Go to amaysim site, fill in all your information (get stuck here as they say I'm an existing customer so will not send me a new sim)
    4. Port out to, eg, Kogan
    5. Port back in with maybe 24 hours downtime.

    Any ideas guys?

  • Hi guys, can someone please help me in understanding how to use the 3 x amaysim groupon voucher that I have purchased? I am currently with Kogan and the plan is expiring in 9 days….

How do I time the use of my voucher so that I can get my amaysim sim card on time?

    Thanks.

    • -1

      I'll send you a pm

      • Please post it here… I am interested in knowing the same.

      • This, I really need to know how and when to start the online redemption… thanks in advance

    • I'm also on Kogan (though just started a 1 month, any update on how you go about it? I presume you run through the setup, they send it and somehow you tell them when to port?

It seems 'safer' to just go buy the $2 sim in a shop and do the process online.

      • I have just done that.

I got the $2 sim pack and tried to do it online but it does not accept the code and says that it is invalid. I had earlier got confirmation using chat that it is possible to do it using the sim pack.

        • Thanks that's worrying though. Have you managed to do it though? Baring in mind I don't want to initiate a Port yet

        • @scuderiarmani:

No luck with the sim card :(

  • The details on groupon don't show if unlimited calls to 10 countries is included. Can anyone confirm, if they are included with this offer. Normally they are in their plans.
Also once I buy the voucher on Groupon, how do I redeem it?

  • The details on groupon don't show if unlimited calls to 10 countries is included. Can anyone confirm, if they are included with this offer. Normally they are in their plans.

    • Yes, they are. I activated my sim on this offer last week and confirm that you get the same inclusions as you would normally get with the Amaysim plan. In my case, it was the $39.90 plan.

Also, you can order your sim any time by using this voucher. Once you get the sim, you can activate it when you are ready to port your number.

  • Thanks mate
