can I trade in my ps3 to get this offer? :p

    • +1

      I wish!

    • Yea but they'll take $3.50 value for it :P

      • +13

And that's when I realised my PS3 was actually the god damn lochness monster!

I wanted to get this game on PS4 but I just feel it would be better on PC (not pcmasterrace jerking), certain games like these just feel better with a mouse+kb. I'll pick it up eventually though

    • +1

You will be waiting… For the ps4 rom It's a first party game , it's exclusive to PS4 because Guerilla games is owned by Sony.

      • +1

Yeah, I know it won't be coming to PC. I meant I'll buy it eventually for PS4.

    • -4

Even if you play it on PS4 Pro it's locked to 30fps. I gave it a try on regular PS4 but the low framerate makes it feel like I'm playing in slow motion. At least we'd have the choice on PC.

      • They really didn't patch it in? That's.. weird. They released pretty close to each other no?

        • They increased the graphics but decided to lock it at 30 either way. God knows why.

        • -1

          @roseyhead:

          "cinematic experience" no doubt

        • @kaneissik: game plays fine at 30fps and im not one to accept the 30fps crap.

    • I used to be a pc gamer and have same thought with you about playing games with kb and mouse, but after moving to ps4 for over 2 years, i like playing games with controllers, and i have none problems when playing fps games like COD

      • Yeah, I still use a controller for some games, I just prefer the control of a mouse/keyboard with FPS/TPS etc. It's definitely because of my inexperience with controllers but I still think overall I'd prefer kb/m

  • if you don't take Horizon Zero Dawn, how much would it be ?

    • $299

  • Hmm tempting… I was looking at a PS4 Pro.. I have a 1tb PS4+HZD already… get $45 for HZD on forums… hmm

  • -8

I'd skip Horizon Zero Dawn, its just a by the numbers below average Far cry clone style open world, no point spending the money on it,

weve had plenty of those before, not worth it. I mean technically the budget was high, but from a gameplay standpoint, nah its too expensive, wait til is sub $20.

    • +2

That's a pretty against-the-grain statement, had any other issues with it apart from the far cry comparison?

      • A.I. issues and some blandness outside of visuals, but to each his own. Not really against the grain, "sites/"reviewers" and console wars are mostly just pushing it because its an exclusive to the platform they're promoting, there are better games that deserve the sales, like Gravity Rush, Talos Principle, even the new Yakuza to an extent.

        • My comment wasn't a console wars thing, I own every console and am primarily a PC player. I just remember the game on release having some acclaim; not sure if it actually held up though. Talos Principle is great though, I agree. My opinion based on just seeing small amounts of Giant Bomb gameplay is that it's very pretty but there is a lot looting, too much perhaps. Taking apart monster's armour making them more vulnerable is cool too. (FWIW, I didn't neg you)

        • @kaneissik: Oh i wasnt saying you were, im just talking about the press that push the game, and the console warriors etc. Alot of advertising for this game to pump up the platform, etc.

Its all good lad, cheers. I just like to give the PS games that are very choice the attention.

  • Worth looking at the cost without trade in which is $529. So youre getting $230 for a PS4 + whatever game you trade in. No idea what you'd get on Gumtree or similar if you sold it yourself.

Did a trade in for an Xbox One S last year and the offer was better than advertised as it doesn't factor in EB World membership bonuses. Ended up with another 20% on top of the trade in value in my case. Possibly worth asking whether that applies with this deal if you have a membership.

When you do one of these console trade-ins what do you need to bring in? Just the console, or controllers/cables too? I'm interested but my PS4 wsa second-hand from EB and the controller is a bit worn.

    • I don't know first hand cos eb suck chocolate salty balls but I would imagine it would be whatever comes in the box with a stock PS4.

    • theres a guide on their website.
you need the console, all cables including charge cable and the controller

  • Will ebgames price match Targets deal of $499 - same offer just $529 at eb

    • +3

Yeah EB normally do although it sometimes depends on the person you try to PM with.
      OR
Just go to Target and reward them for doing a better deal.

    • no they do not price match bundles.

      • Even tho they have the same bundle at $529

    • Yes, EB Games will price match bundles that are indentical

      • I was told this afternoon from eb Games that they will botnorice match consoles bundles even tho they are they same

        • Where are you located? Perhaps different states have different rules, however in QLD you should not have a problem.

  • for the month of may EB has a promotion where depending on your eb level you get an extra percent trade in bonus. Ask before you trade anything in.
For example a level 4 received an extra 20%

    • Do you have a link? I can't seem to find anything about this promotion - is this a limited time thing for May, or just the standard deal for EB World?

See bottom of this page - it suggests Level 4 always gets 20% bonus trade credit.

      • its an in-store promotion not listed on their website.
I've traded 2 consoles in the last week using the added 5/10/15/20% on top.

Pulled the trigger - original PS4 (500gb) and Dragon Age Inquisition for a Pro with Horizon for $276 (10% bonus trade value). Happy with that as I wanted to play Horizon and could no longer wait 😄

  • I think it would be better to sell PS4 on Gumtree and get the $499 Target deal. Say you get $250 on Guntree, that's $250 difference for PS4 Pro and game.

    • +3

Having to sell privately is a pain though 😉 You're right though - it would be a better deal, so it's just a question of convenience.

  • I'm not an EB member but wouldn't mind the 10%, 15% or 20% off when using this deal. What's involved in claiming it? Could you just give them an email? Would appreciate any PM's. Thanks!

  • If I do trade in vs gumtree… do I just get an external HDD and backup my save game data and sync my trophies? Do I need to then wipe my PS4 or logout or something so my profile doesn't get used/stolen?

I recently asked my local store for the trade value of my 1TB ps4 and i was told about $230 if it is going towards a ps4 pro. if you are planing to trade it without going for the ps4 pro they would take it for $170. and also i was told they have a extra bonus % on trades at the moment if you have the eb card and depending on your current level, not sure when this will end but better to check your local store. i don't know if this will help but decided to put it up here from what i found out today.

  • just traded my original Day 1 PS4 and killzone game for this deal. Got it for $264.50 including the 15% trade value due to my Lvl 3 membership. Pretty happy as the controller thumbstick was worn badly and got the killzone game used in the past.

    • Did you trade the items separately to get this price? Just wondering if this is the better way to do it. What was the trade in value for the console before member bonus? Thanks

      • Nope just put trade everything in which is the 500GB Console, 1 worn Controller, HDMI cable, Power cable, Controller Micro USB cable and killzone game. Took out my 1TB SSHD and put back the original 500gb in and install the latest Update on it.

The Trade in before the Member bonus is $230, so with my Level 3 15% credit bonus became $264.50 trade in.

I'm Level 3 EBgames member and you need at least 4500 to reach those. It's more like a rewards for spending tonnes of money at EBgames. The good thing is there is no expiry so if you rake up all those point in 5 years it'll still be a Level 3 member. So Level 1 you don't any trade in Credit Bonus, while level 2 you get 10% and Level 3 you get 15% then Level 4 you get 20% extra Trade in Credits.
