    TS 251A = Intel Celeron N3060 (passmark = 977)
    TS 451+ = Intel Celeron J1850 (passmark = 1614)
    TS-453A = Intel Celeron N3150 (passmark = 1678)
    TS-853A = Intel Celeron N3150/N3160 (N3160's passmark = 1678)

All are underpower CPUs. you can not even run a single plex transcode HD on the fly

    • What is the minimum for Plex transcoder HD?

      • +1

transcode hd on the fly = 2000 passmarks each
on the background = could be slower then

    • True.
But you misunderstood word "NAS". ;)

      • I have a QNAP 459pro which is powered by a Intel Atom D525 with passmark of 700ish. its an excellent NAS. But I am dispointed by the CPU limitations.

I'd auggest anyone who can afford a bit more buy a i3 nas. Say x71 series could be a good option.

        • From my research x71 is nearly double price compared to x53A…
Yeah, I have old good x59 Pro too. :)
And I was researching new models to upgrade.

        • @SickDmith:
unfortunately, that is true. I'd like to wait for a good deal to upgrade as well.

You may buy the cheapest x71 and upgrade the CPU and memory later then.

        • @y12345678:

Yeah, I was talking about the cheapest x71 models… Higher model even more expensive.
RAM upgrade sounds Ok. I didn't know CPU is upgradable.
But can I ask what is the point of having a lot of CPU power on NAS?
          Plex? VMs?

        • @SickDmith:
yeap. that are two main things

    • did u up the RAM or keep it at the base minimum!? try again with max'd RAM

  • I wouldn't recommend the Ironwolf, they're very noisy drives.

    • Noisy ….so you know they are working ……
