got an email, they will price match eglobal's price of 519 plus 22 delivery. so $541 all up delivered through Kogan.

I dare say you would need to email them through the above page to get that price too. I just used this link from eGlobals page:

          https://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/lg-v20-h990-dual-si…

          @ingster: Thanks for the update!

@ingster: Can you give me a rundown of the actual benefits of Kogan over this seller? I mean they both are grey importers.

        • @Sweaty-penguin:

kogan gave new replacement phones for those bootlooped G4s.

        • @Sweaty-penguin:

From anecdotal reports Kogan are quite good when it comes to warranty claims and are an established Australian based business. Seems a little safer than an eBay store. I've never personally dealt with them for warranty though.

  • I like LG but after the dreadful bootloop I had with the V10, I'm not going to risk buying another LG device till they fix the problem in the future release.
Funnily my bootloop happened after 1yr. Bought it from a overseas seller on Ebay as it was the H962 version.
Currently using a Xiaomi mi max. Pretty good so far except for the camera.

  • I nearly bought a New V20 on ebay (Sprint Locked) $299US
But mucking around with crossflashing to unlock and free us the CDMA bands looked too much of a nightmare.
This looks like a much better option. Thanks.

  • I would be very weary of a grey import LG phone after their recent history of very unreliable phones, regardless of model (boot loop issues after 6-15 months).

  • +1

I can see why a lot of people are scared of LG phones because of the boot loop issues on the previous phones. But surely you cant tarnish this phone with the boot loop issue if there havent been any instances of it. I may be wrong but i read that it was to do with poor soldering on the motherboard that used a certain chip set. This phone has a different chipset and one would think they would be extra careful to try and ensure this problem doesnt occur again.

For me, its like saying the Note 7 catches fire so im never buying a Samsung.

This phone seems to be a great phone and if i had the money i would defiantly get it.

P.S If this phone does end up getting the boot loop, i will eat my words and apologize for this comment, and Il also jump on the band wagon of 'Il never get a LG phone'

    • I think people have a little more reason to be cautious with LG. Samsung had one phone with a major, very public flaw that could've killed people. In contrast LG has a few phone models that suffer from a boot loop. A boot looping phone isn't going to make mainstream media - because there is no explody-plody - and there will be less pressure on the company to rectify the problem. I'm betting that if the V20s and the G6s start to boot loop the mainstream media will start to get interested.

Having said that, I've been using the V20 since December. I knew about the issues with the previous models before purchasing but I was so sick of Samsung phones turning into iPhones (no removable battery, talk of no MMC slot) that I decided they just aren't what I wanted anymore (I was still using the Note 3 - with the ZeroLemon battery - before that).

+1 I'm happy to be a contrarian ozbargainer here, the haters just make it a better deal for me :-)

  • Just get htc 10. No loop possibility

Not a deal. $514 delivered from Android Enjoyed.

    • +2

I don't know if $7.55 is worth a neg. Especially when you get the protection of eBay/Paypal.
Although, I went to your site and was offered a $10 off code TODAYBF so if someone is going to use them it might help.

Also is Android Enjoyed a reputable site with good customer/return service? They seem to have a bad rep on most review sites (which I usually take with a grain of salt as I know they're mostly used to complain, but 1.3-2.8 is very low even for these type of review sites).

      • -2

The reliability is of note, but an offer on par with others on the market is not a deal; it's just a typical market offer.

    • +1

You've been a member since 2008 and you're suggesting Android Enjoyed? Do you realise how poor their rep is? They're either banned from Ozbargain, or on the verge of being banned. Not even worth considering.

      • I've been here long, but not often. Never heard of them. Good to know. What could go wrong, though? ;D

  • Does anyone know the estimated shipping time with these guys? My note just died yesterday, if it's ~2 weeks that's okay, if it's 4-6 weeks it's not going to work for me.

Ebay says June 02, but since this is almost surely coming from O/S that date estimate is useless.

    • I ordered this on Monday morning, they shipped (from Taiwan) Tuesday and it arrived in Brisbane Thursday, sent via DHL express

      • Awesome thanks! That's very impressive. I think I'll bite the bullet. Are you happy with it so far?

        • Yeah I'm happy but I haven't really pushed the performance so far and I haven't used the cameras, IR or the DAC.
I've really only used it for calls, IM, browsing and emails.
All of that is much smoother than on the G4 this is replacing.
One call over bluetooth in the car I had some garbled/digital noise, I need to figure out if that was a one off or something I need to try and fix.

The fingerprint reader is fast and conveniently placed, I prefer it to the one on the s7
I like having the app shortcuts on the second screen, settings is always only one click away.
The NFC antenna is at the top, around the camera module. I couldn't get it to work at first because I was touching below the cameras
It's a big phone, but I like the size.

My only gripes are all minor
It came with a US charger, with a dodgy AU adaptor (pins aren't insulated). But that's kind of to be expected with an import
"comfort view" isn't on a timer, it's always on.
It's only on the December security update.

With those new ebay codes you should be able to get it a little cheaper.

        • @based:

That's cool. The phone this will replace is a Samsung Note 3, it was an excellent phone for my needs and I'd still be using it today had it not died yesterday. The biggest feature in a phone for me is the camera - I take heaps of family videos, the Note 3 took really smooth 1080/60 video and while old by today's standards I was very happy with it. This LG V20 is probably one of the few ones that are a certain upgrade from that camera, this and some of the later Samsung phones. I was holding out for a Samsung Note 8 or C10 (for the dual lense cameras) both of which will probably be better than the LG but neither are yet available either.

So I either buy this or something cheap to get me through until those arrive. I can buy this and if I want to upgrade to one of those later I can pass this on to my wife who also uses her camera a lot, huge upgrade from the Samsung Galaxy S5. Win/Win.

I'm pretty sure this LG does 1080p/60 via manual modes, not sure about in auto options so it pretty much ticks all the boxes for me and getting basically a flagship phone in 2017 for $500 odd is hard to walk away from.

        • Based:

I got the price down to $521.55 with another 1.3% with CashRewards so you could call it $514.77.

I saw a story on page 1 about insurance, I'm happy to add insurance but I don't see the option anywhere. Do I need to contact them directly about this extra cost do you know?

        • @Click_It:
Yep, even in auto you get the choice of 4k30, fhd60, fhd30, 720
In the research I did before buying it seemed that the auto mode wasn't amazing and you probably need to go manual to get the best out of it
They also mentioned the fancy video stabilisation isnt available in 4k or 1080p60, but it isn't very good anyway so it's not a big loss
And the bitrate can be a little on the low side for 60fps, so 30 may give a better result at times

It's my first type-c device, sounds like all of yours are also currently micro. In the box is only one A-C cable, some other v20 versions list an A-C and a C-C in the box

Did you get targeted with winter 10 or 15?
That should be better than c5oz

        • @based:

Yeah my only concern about the camera on this thing is the heavy lean towards cool (blue) tones, in some examples its ridiculously blue, so hopefully that's correctable via manual settings. I'm not a professional videographer thus my use of phone cameras lol but I don't want outdoor shots looking like Pandora either ;) Good to hear it does FHD60 straight outta the box. Where I can get away with auto I likely will.

The stabilisation I hear is crap too, I'm planning to buy a Gimbal at some point, just bogged down there with which one to get. Motor noise is a real problem with them. Those will stabilise a phone more than any phone can ever manage.

Yes my first type-c too. OK so I should add some cables onto my shopping list then, will want one living in the car too.

I was targeted with Winter15 but found c5oz better. Winter15 got it to around $534 and c5oz $521.55.

If I really like this phone I might upgrade to the G6 later and pass this down to my wife when the G6 can be had for a similar price, or even the V30 (?). I've been a Samsung fanboy of sorts because the camera could do things most other phones couldn't plus the note's phablet screen size suited me. Now the competition have caught up it seems and I can buy phones for the price I used to buy the Note's (1 and 3) for.

        • +1

Just ordered 2 x Blitzwolf Type-C cables for $4.08 ea. Start with good quality for the beginning. All my micro Blitzwolf cables are still going strong.

Now i have phone, screen protectors, case and USB cables ordered. I think i have it all covered.

  • Something to be aware of is public holidays in Taiwan this week. I asked a question and got this:

Our office/warehouse will be close between 27 May to 30 May, 2017 due to public holiday in Taiwan. We may NOT be able to read or reply your message during the time. Please kindly bear with us and we will do our best to assist you from 31 May 2017

So it looks like those in a rush (like me) have zero chance of getting their phones this week. It'll have to do though, I've found others on ebay cheaper (in the $490's) but this place is reputable so I'll pay the premium and wait a few more days.
