          nah you killed it

@D6C1: my typing skills are quicker than my reading skills

      • Doesn't matter, you no longer need a wallet

  • i saw that on my home page and it disappeared….

  • It has started already. Just applied it to something I had sitting in my cart and it worked.

  • Stack with cashrewards?

    • +1

      yes

  • +6

    5%…

  • +7

    i need a 20%..

    • +1

      I need 110%.

      • +1

        You need Tony Squires.

    • +1

I've received a number of emails lately from eBay about price drops for items I was watching just before the sale. Means those 20% are not as valuable as you think as stores are just raising prices before the sale.

Not new news.. but still disappointing.

  • +12

    C'50Z' aka SOZ it's only 5%

    I don't get out of bed unless it's 10%

Are you talking about your phone battery?

    • +1

yeah 5% isnt worth searching for more crap to buy!

    • +4

      For that reason, I'm out.

    • What do people usually buy when its 10%? If i bought games that are around $80 would it really be worth it? If someone was buying a TV with a 10% off would be more bang for your buck right?

      • +8

Yes, I can confirm that buying a TV more expensive than an $80 game would give you a bigger cash saving if they were both 10% off.

I can also confirm that if you would have bought a game at $80, buying it at $72 is in fact worth it.

  • +5

    poor effort ebay!

    • +5

remember when eBay gave us 50% for a fathers day special or something and then lots of people abused the system to try and get a PS4 with a plastic fork? Thats why we can never get nice things

      • +5

what are you on about? ps4? plastic fork?

        • +5

if i recall eBay was doing a fathers day special where it was 50% off for the BBQ category. Alot of people sold plastic forks bundled with a PS4 to get a huge discount.

          edit: here is the deal..

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/158680

FYI we never got anything as good as that since the debacle.

        • +3

  • +2

5% LOL Come on eBay, you can do better than that.

    • +6

      Sadly, they can't lol

  • -5

This sale is technically 15% off or (16.3% if you use cashrewards) if you are buying from an overseas seller. Why? Because if you happen to buy overseas stuff, come July 1st, the gov is taxing GST on all foreign items, even if it was 30c. Time to load up on any essentials before government takes another 10%. Ebay/AliExpress/Amazon might decide to join together and block all international goods being sold to Aussies as a protest for a few months.. http://www.smh.com.au/business/the-economy/amazon-ebay-etsy-…

Before anyone says eBay will never do that, you need to understand the way eBay works. As soon as they start collecting tax for one government, it's going to be a frenzy with other countries joining the gravy train, and that would be a huge headache for them. There is a good chance they may be serious in their threats as Australian sales are just a tiny percentage of their total business revenue.

    • +4

Well it's not July 1 so you're not technically saving anything other than this coupon. Plus the federal government is going to find it very difficult to police this, I don't see it being any good for a long time because they don't want to commit the resources to it. So many items >$1k get let through customs even now.

      • Wouldn't they just handle it like how Amazon does it right now by adding a Import Fees Deposit when you buy > $1k AUD?

        • Depends on the company and how much force the federal government places on it. I doubt local importers like DWI and such will even care about the new rules until penalties are introduced.

      • I cant say how I know but I Know this to be true. Immigration (Customs) dont have the resources, nor are the IT systems ready to grab the gst, nor are Oz Post ramped up to deal with it either…

  • This code is working now.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Damn, forgot to stack with cashrewards though

  • +15

That awkward moment when you save more from the 5% sale than the 20% sales…

  • Thanx.. got $5 off

  • +6

OH FFS!!! I was sick of waiting for a site wide deal so I just purchased some items this afternoon! :@

    • +1

      There there, have a +1

      • +1

        Cheers! LOL

    • Same here…I feel your pain!

    • omg same here, $1000 purchase dammmmmmmmnnnn :(

  • +1

Does anyone know when the next Good Guys 20% will happen?

    • I am waiting for it too

    • The Good Guys deals have dried up since JB bought them out

  • God damnit I just bought something off ebay yesterday…

    • +1

      Rookie error.

  • +6

    Next deal, 1% off.

  • Tks OP! I miss out on the previous 5% off with an item already in cart yesterday.
Now I am able to buy it again with combining cashreward I should save a total of $19.

  • How annoying, paid for an item $300 this morning…grrrrrr.

  • So this one do the exact same thing as C5AUS that just expired. Why couldn't they just left that one on for longer?

    • +11

So it can be on the front page of OzBargain and other deal sites again.

  • Thanks. Used it to get myself a new Dyson.

  • +1

Back in the day it used to be 20% off site wide. Thinking about it, that was only a year or two ago…

    • -1

There has never been a 20% off sitewide unfortunately.

  • +4

All bets on that there will be a 10% or 15% sitewide in June because of the GST import tax kicking in in July.

  • +1

    When does this deal expire?

    • "This offer is available for a limited time only, for as long as it is advertised by eBay on www.ebay.com.au "

anyone got more info than that?

      • +1

Probably until the next 5% off deal comes rolls eyes

        • I'd laugh if they slowly start winding it down - the next deal will be 4%, then 3…2…1…

  • The expiry date is probably May 14 as shown in Cashrewards for this coupn code

  • Last time this deal was active I only bothered to use it on something worth $400. Need to step up my ozbargain game.

  • Anyone know if I can use this with an eBay offer? I was looking at some lashes on eBay and saw these:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/322501696830
which say "Buy 6, Get 6 Free" at the top.

    Does this mean I would
get 6 free and 5% off?
    or would only 1 work?
Also would Cash Rewards work as well if there is a special like that advertised?

    • Sorry this doesn't answer your question, but what is the big deal about fake eyelashes? Why do women wear it? I never understood what it's supposed to achieve :S

      • +1

They are really cute if you are stuck with thin little boy-lashes like me :P

I work in HR so looks are a pretty big deal. I also burn through foundation like there is no tomorrow…

    • +1

Yes you can buy 6, get 6 free and then add the 5% off code on top. Yes cashback is still applicable.

However the item total is $29.88, you need something else to hit the $30 minimum for this code to work.

You can add something for $1 from another seller to your cart then checkout all at once. Add to your cart and checkout doesn't commit you to purchase so you can play around and test it with the code to see the final price.

      • +1

Amazing thank you Hamza23! Seems to work as you described!!!

  • It worked today. Thanks.

  • can i use this on an item tha is not "buy it now".

I can't add to cart because it it only bid. and don't know where to apply the code before bidding

    • You can after winning the auction.

  • +1

Thanks OP,just bought a fiio X5 III hi-res player with 5% off, all stores are selling it at rrp because it is hot and new nowadays.

    • I been hanging out for the Fiio X1 v2 just now need to get a new sd card for more space

  • This one's really cool. Thanks for sharing

  • Still working, just used it. Cheers! :)

  • I have three items worth $40.23 (postage $0.00), but when I enter the code it says "This code can't be applied to your order". I've never used it before and it's not supposed to expire until tonight. I guess I'll wait until the next one.

  • -1

Thought I'd try the code a second time … and it worked! Copied direct from Cashrewards so not a typing error either. Dodgy!

  • The code worked. Saved $40+. Great!

  • when does the code expire? just placed a bid on an item ending in 4 days…

    • Today's the last day for it. They'll probably bring out a new code soon

      • How do you know? Code is still active as of today, I suspect it end on Wednesday like C5AUS last time

    • Finder.com.au have listed it as part of click frenzy so it should last till 7pm wednesday 17th of may.

    • +4

Just got an email that C5OZ has been extended to the end of May.

      • Guess what happens on the 1st June

  • Awesome that its still going. 10% would be better ofc…. XD

  • Received this email today. Looks like it's still valid.

    • Yes me too, and still no defined end date.

This offer is available for a limited time only, for as long as it is advertised by eBay on www.ebay.com.au (“Offer Period”).

  • Good thing remembered this coupon. Saved me around $40 today.

  • Someone purchased something from my ebay and wants to pay using bank deposit, can they still get 5% off?

    • Someone purchased something from my ebay and wants to pay using bank deposit, can they still get 5% off?

No. If you click the link it clearly states

"The redemption code requires payment with an Australian PayPal account in order to take effect."

  • Aww come on…this site is draining me hard

  • I have used this im sure in one of my ebay accouts but i have another ebay account i use. I put items in basket as add code it worked but i then log into use pay with paypal and it does not work.
Im taking this is linked to paypal and not ebay accounts.
Any other ebay codes available right now as this one aint working for me.

  • Always forget about this deal.

  • +1

Code refused to work for me, got on to eBay chat and they're processing a manual refund of the 5% for me.

  • Works for me! bought 2 aircons. Thx OP
