  • Bought the exact same thing yesterday for $79.95, just ordered another one now. Looks identical to the one I got from Rebel.

    • Also bought this from Rebel a couple of months ago for $79.95. Good set … would have been even better at nearly half price ;)

  • +5

Great price, especially given the modest shipping fee for such a heavy item! :)

    • yes, absolutely agree! moreover,it come with a nice case!

  • Excellent, this comes just at the right time for my body-building-crazy cousin ^^

  • (4 x 1.5 = 6KG) + (4 x 2.5 = 10KG) = 16KG
Even with the weight of the bar (1.3KG), I still don't understand where the 20KG is coming from?

    • +2

      (4 x 1.5 = 6KG) + (4 x 2.5 = 10KG) = 16KG

      +

      (2x 1.3 = 2.6KG) + (Storage case + Spinlock Collars (including rubber ‘O’ rings) = 2.4) = 5KG

      Total = 20KG

  • Great price especially for the delivery too.
    Got myself a set.

  • Does anyone know if the weights from this will fit onto this bar http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/30300 and visa versa?

Very keen to get a set of these but need it to be interchangeable.
I can see the hole diamater of this set but am worried that by the time I get home to measure the BIGW set the deal will be run out!

    • My own research tends to indicate that a Standard Bar is approx 25mm, being that these are 29mm hole drilled is that too large of a hole for a 25mm bar? I would imagine it should be fine but having said that I don’t know anything about weight lifting.

      Thanks for your help.

      • +1

        nope it is fine

        • Thanks, snapped one up.

          • @Peekay: I can vouch for that, as I have that same $98 bench from Big-W, and I also have these same dumbells from their previous sale. :)

I put the weights on the bar and used them on the bench. :)

HOWEVER…. I don't recommend it!!!! The bar is very flimsy, when you put all the weights on, you will see it bend!

I ended up buying a solid bar from Big-W or K-mart, for around $40 I think.

  • Bought one. Cheers :)

  • So does this mean each dumbell weights 10kgs?

    • +1

Has me stumped, too. Sitting here staring stupidly at the package contents list, plugging numbers into my calculator, and nothing's working. Found the product of all the weights, divided its square root by the reciprocal of pi, and it still makes no sense. Help!

      • so the total amount of weights given to you is 20kgs.
You can choose to distribute however you want between the 2 bars given to you.

    • yeah…sorta :P
      well, it's 20kg's between 2 dumbells.
I think the max you can chuck on 1 dumbell is 16kgs…then the other one will be 4kgs
I picked one up a month or two ago from 1-Day for around the same price I think.
Very nice set :) Perfect for me since I can't lift many kgs.
Only thing to watch out for are the handles. When I grip mine too tight, it digs into my skin and leaves a mark. Countered that by wearing some winter gloves :P

  • Ignore comment.

Looks very similar to another one from them about 6 months ago for about $5 less. Inflation???

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/22539

  • I bought these about 15yrs ago, for $49.99. Didn't come in a plastic case, just a cardboard box.
They look exactly the same. Inflation has brought them up to $79.99, from most places.
    $46 is a good deal.

  • Please be aware that if you are buying these for the extra weights rather than the bars, make sure that they fit. I bought weights from 1-day perhaps a year ago actually for the bars (as at the time each bar was approx $20 from Rebel so it worked out cheaper) but realized that the weight don't actually fit on my Olympic bars. These are great if you're doing different body parts (bicep/triceps) on the same day and don't want to keep changing the weights from the one set of bars. Real time saver.

    • +1

You bought standard weight plates online for olympic bars? facepalm

      • As I said, I bought the package for the extra bars. The weight provided is enough for the lower weight exercises. Obviously 20kg weights won't be enough for the main compound exercises. I'm just saying it would have been nice if they fit and am cautioning others who are buying these specifically for the extra weights with the intention of using it on another bar as per my first line above..

  • Bought the exact same set, for the same price, 1 month ago from 1-day. So if anyone misses out this time keep an eye out - they'll probably be posted again sometime. The carry case isn't very sturdy (one of the clips broke off straight away) but otherwise can't fault them.

  • You can buy it at Workout world if you want brand ones Avanti

    • +1

For more than twice the price. The good thing about weights is that a 2.5kg unbranded plate will weigh exactly the same as a 2.5kg branded plate ;)

  • Sold Out :D

  • +1

Goddamit! I was just comparing weight sets last night. This one would have beaten them all. Missed out!

  • how long did it take to get delivered last time?
