Kathmandu Litehaul 38l V3 Travel Backpack $95 + $10 Delivery (Delivery Free from $100)

180

Very well reviewed Kathmandu Litehaul 38l v3 Backpack in blue for $95 + $10 delivery, or find a $5 item for free delivery. (Or free pick up in store I assume).

This previously went out of stock, but available again at a slightly lower price. Confirmed it can be delivered as I just ordered one.

    How is this a deal?

    • +1

The new model has been improved but also more expensive without a deal. I will wait for the new model price to come down. http://www.kathmandu.co.nz/transfer-carry-on.html#BVRRContai…

I will wait for the model after that one.

…and I, the one after that

      • I bought the V3, but have checked out the new model, and it is very very nice.

I would definitely take the new model over the old one if the price came down (I'd probably pay $150 for it), but couldn't justify it at $210, when I could buy 2x V3 for cheaper! (which is what I did)

        • Not worth $210. For less than $150, I can get the Osprey Farpoint 40. I will only consider this bag if it is less than $100.

          @maxdba:

Yes, as I said, I wouldn't pay $210 for it.

I said $150, because for me, it is about neck and neck with the Farpoint 40. Better build quality and warranty on the Osprey, sure. But the new Litehaul has a few extra features and looks MUCH better, in my opinion.

I have been planning on getting a Farpoint 40 for a while, and I still am…but if the new Litehaul came down to the same price or less, I would seriously consider it.

(Ideally if I can get 1x Farpoint 40 and 1x New Litehaul for $250-$300 total, I would be happy).

Considering that there's free shipping for $100+ orders. Instead of paying the $10 for shipping. Why not add one of these towels to the order to bring it to just over $100 at $103 to get the free shipping and then you've got yourself a towel too to take with you for times when you're at the beach or pool. Just a consideration!.

  • Seems like an awesome deal. I noticed a cool little satchel on the eBay page that if you take away the 20% further discount it comes to $100 Inc shipping.

When i added two bags i got free delivery (over $100) and then with CLOTHES30 they both came to $133 delivered. Awesome deal.

  • is it suitable as carry ons? They look rather large to be used as carry-on lugguage for flights

    • yes, they are made for carryon.

it will be slightly over in certain measurements for certain carriers, but should fit if you don't stuff it full.

    • H 53cm x W 33cm x D 27cm , so should be fine carry-on, but its a bit heavy.

      • They look a little large in some of the photos in actual use.

        but thank you for confirming

      • I noticed that. 1.42kg doesn't leave a lot to pack…..

They've shaved 100 grams off the new model

  • What's so special, Everything in Katmandu is always 3 times typical market price.
    So bloody expensive..

This is a solid travel backpack for <$100. It has features comparable to Osprey Farpoint 40 ($150-$200), so for $100 it is a good option. Basically a budget version of the Farpoint 40, without the legendary build quality/guarantee.

Yes, at RRP it is a rip-off and there are better options, but for ~$100, I doubt you can get anything better.

Please show me a better <$100 travel backpack. I highly doubt you can.

    • It is not expensive if you travel with budget airlines that charge for check in lugguage. Having a well designed carry on bag that maximizes space such as this one can save you heaps on check in luggage fees. For example airasia charge over $40 for syd-kl flight. Plus approximately $10-20 for flights around asia. You can easily recoup costs on one trip.
This bag has great reviews too.

    • That depends how you rate "market price". Their RRP is a joke, but same goes for all outdoor stores (macpac, mountain designs etc). They all have regular sales at 50% off, at which point they're value for money for quality.
No doubt you can get a Kmart made in China backpack that will also do the job, but these things will generally fail after a time if you're travelling regularly with them.

  • Is this bag waterproof?

  • Has anyone had their backpacks shipped yet. I hope i don't get an out of stock email.

    • +1

I got a dispatched from warehouse email today.

  • Not happy! I rang katmandu today after receiving no shipping information and was informed that they were out of stock and cancelled my order.
I guess i will just spend more and invest in a good opsrey farpoint 40l.

I got a messsge from them via eBay, they upgraded me to the next model as they'd sold out of the one I ordered.

    • +1

wow, the new model is WAY better! you scored!

      I'm very jealous! :)

    • Good score. You'd think normally they'd just refund your purchase
