      The ground is just sand here, so everybody uses a manual hole pincer. Even the commercial fencing guys.

      I expect these petrol augers are for clay-type soil?

    "it will go to 2m" - yea right. Might work if you work in sand but in my experience those augers are tough to handle. Every-time I have used one I ended up having to use a shovel because the augur gets stuck. Now I just go for the shovel which works out much cheaper too.

      They can be hard to use - I'm 1.88m and 110Kg so am strong enough to handle it but skinny guys might have issues.

      They all get stuck on roots or rocks etc and should have safety clutches to handle that. If you hit the sweet spot a 30cm hole to a metre depth takes just seconds…

    This is a crap deal, it takes a while to build a deck or put up a few shade cloths and you will need it for at least 3 days. You can buy a shit one of ebay for $200 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Baumr-AG-Post-Hole-Digger-62cc-Po…) and do the job or you can hire this for $135 for 3 days of works. And you have to pick it up and drop it back, real pain in the arse. What a rip
