R.M. Williams - Complimentary Crocodile Belt with Boots Purchase

150

I know that the RRP price in the R.M. Williams shops is above prices obtainable elsewhere, however only at branded shops you can get free anniversary Crocodile belt!

Went to the shop, tried Comfort Craftsman, looked at the belt and walked away with $545 less on my account. That would account ~$120 for the belt compare to purchase the boots elsewhere. I really wanted the belt, it is a really nice piece of accessory.

The RRP of the belt is $300, which is bit over, however given the real crocodile leather and the brand I think ~$200 would be a very reasonable price.
You will also get the export permit if you are traveling.

    Great deal!

Curious to know what colour boots you got ?

I already got Dynamic Flex in Chestnut so just went black this time - able to use them as dress shoes as well.
The belt I got in the brown with silver buckle (as the chestnut has golden buckle which I did not like).

I got this deal with my first pair of RMs, easily 10 years ago now. The belt has been really good, even with regular use it hasn't worn very much. I just give it a light wipe over with a neutral polish once or twice a year and it stays soft & supple. The boots have similarly lasted just as well, except I polish them a lot more often.

What are your thoughts on the boots? Some people are complaining the quality isn't the same any more. I've got two pairs, brown and black also in the Comfort Craftsman, and they're the best footwear I own.

To be honest - just recently I got to the stage where I was able to justify spending this amount of money for a pair of shoes.
So can't comment on longevity - however they both are the best snug fit I have ever owned.

I got a pair of comfort craftsman's about a year ago and they are easily the best boots I've ever owned. Maybe the quality isnt as good but it's still top notch and they are holding up very nicely even with moderate use.

    • The Crocodile Hornback from their range is closest to the one from this deal.
Thanks for the tip - The ranger belt is something I may be interested in, but not today :-) My quota is all used up for few months :(

Ha! While you're there, make sure you pick up a reindeer belt because crocodile is soooo last season.

        • @kahn:

"Crafted using Russian reindeer leather with permission from HRH the Prince of Wales"

well, if he thinks its ok…

WTF, who pays $600+ for a belt??? rolls eyes

        • @Mr Mrrtn:

The kind of person who'd walk into the store wearing a greyhound tuxedo.

    • That means you aren't in the target market ;)

    • Neither have I :|

Probably makes sense if you plan on keeping them for 20 years ;)

    • Go into the Sydney flagship LV store and they can hook you up with 6k custom made shoes.

  • Do they have any whale skin hubcaps?

    • I doubt it. Last time I checked there were no whale farms anywhere near Australia.

I think the deal is good/reasonable however didn't post to avoid the comments. I did post this deal last night. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/308904

I bought a Kangaroo pair a couple of weeks ago direct from RM Williams and got the belt, still undecided if I will keep even though it's nice you will get $150 for it on Ebay which brings the price inline with Nungar and only what you should pay until their contract runs out. I did go into the store about a week prior to the belt deal and they refused to match and only offered the conditioner as a bonus

I have ordered another 2 pairs of Kangaroo Comfort Crafstsman of Nungar however tempted by the Suede Craftsman and then I think i will have to stop! can't buy 5 pairs in a month!!

At $545 for the cheapest boot you would want a free gift with it. Also this free gift of a belt probably only cost some thing like $50 to make in the factory and then they claim RRP $300 on it.

    • You havent worn nice shoes then, I would pay double and be happy.

    • Welcome to Economy 101 - the price is not always closely related to the manufacturing cost. However I do believe you got ripped off much more elsewhere.
As I said for a quality crocodile belt you are looking at paying >$200.
For the shoes themselves - yes, you can get a pair of shoes for $100 which will last for a year - and I do have, and went through, plenty of those.
And then you can have shoes which will cost 5-6x more and hopefully will last more. And on top of that you will get the nicest fit you have ever experienced.
If the pair will not last at least 6 years I will be disappointed. If it will last longer I saved money compare to 6x ordinary shoes.

  • Anyone tried on the chinchilla boot?

I dont fit the craftsman, the comfort turnout fits me better.

Just wondering what chinchilla is like.

RMW15 gets you 15% off anything above $250

    • not anything - full price apparel only :(

    • How to get it?
When I tried with the checkout (1 pair of full price boots and the belt) I got this message:

"The promo Code RMW15 has been successfully applied to your bag. Please note no discounts will be applied until the promotion conditions are met."

And no discount has been applied :(
