Well poo… just bought this last month for a bit more than that! :(

  • +2

    Bought one. Thanks vonNeuman!

  • Not sure whether to buy this or one of the many no name clones on ebay for $70-$90..are they just as good or do you get what you pay for?

    • +2

Just as good, but do take in account that it's more difficult or impossible to buy replacement accessories for the no name ones.
Honestly though, at less than half the price you might as well just buy a new one lol…

    • My ex-housemate had a no name one, but I didn't like it as much as Philips', it felt "faulty" and not as easy to use as Philips, it depends on the brand I guess?

My family has a few Airyers since 2012, the first one is still working well. The only thing we didn't like about Phillips Airfyer is that it was hard to clean because of the basket. This slightly newer model has "QuickClean basket with non-stick mesh", hopefully it's better.

They were way cheaper back then, got one for only $120, so I have been quite reluctant to buy one for myself until I found this cashback.

"It felt 'faulty'" what does that even mean?

        • It took 30 minutes to fully cook a crumbed fish fillet inconsistently, but the max time I could set it to was 15 minutes, so I had to reset after first round. You need to press the start button for at least 30 secs for it to start.

        • @vonNeuman:

took 30 minutes to fully cook a crumbed fish

Mine takes about 10-15 mins on 200c (it really depends on the temperature and how you stack the food up in there)

max time I could set it to was 15 minutes

          Mine's 30 mins

press the start button for at least 30 secs for it to start

I just turn it to how many minutes and it starts

Better yet, I spent $60 on it. Cleaning isn't a problem either as I just chuck it in the dishwasher. I think the one you're talking about is a very old no brand tbh.

  • For l cash back they need store location, shall it be Myer Ebay??

    • Your invoice will tell you which store it is shipped from.

      • I ordered mine from myer online online and it does not state the store:(

May be Myer should be enough to claim then.

    • We'll just need to supply the copy of tax invoice from Myer which includes all the details needed.

The tax invoice (email titled: "Your Click & Collect order is ready to be picked up" or "Tax Invoice Enclosed - 1 item has been shipped") will be sent later.

digital version also discount, and it include the grill pan, while the non digital posted by OP does not comes with grill pan

  • I know nothing about these air fryers but am interested to make chips. How long does it take to make a batch of fries?

    • +1

On 200c it takes about 15-20 mins (20 if you like them really crispy). Also, don't fill it up too full so the air can go through to cook evenly.

  • What's the difference between this one and the costlier Avance model?

  • I have bought one similar to this one and i am pretty happy with it, extremely recommend it. I use it to cook meat, chicken, chips….. you name it.

  • Does the healthy feature really outweigh energy efficiency? Air fryer is normally 1.5kW or more?

  • Can anyone explain how this is different from a Turbo Oven. I use a Turbo Oven to cook crumbed fish, oven fries, roast Chicken/Beef, frozen and hand made spring rolls, Pork with crackling, Chinese BBQ Port, and with the extension ring I can cook larger roasts such as turkey.

    • It's not any different really.

Just in case anyone is wondering this can't make fried icecream

  • Thanks op. Makes the superior 9240/XL model real cheap, picked one up for my olds.

Buy a secondhand convection oven for like 10-20 bucks secondhand instead of this.

  • I've always wanted an airfryer and last year I pulled the trigger on a barely used on from gumtree and I am so glad I did. Now I barely use any oil to cook all the easy finger foods that my kids eat, tater tots, hash browns, even fresh potatoes. Love my airfryer, it gets almost daily usage and the Philips has held up pretty well.
