    where is everyone staying? Sooi expensive… Had a quick look for 4 days accomodation at Thredbo and it is 2500 for 3 nights for 2 adults and 2 little kids (child and toddler).

    I guess that's why I have Nz booked in August, still wanted to donate some money to Aussie resort, but at this price it feels like being screwed backwards.

      NZ has been pretty dismal in comparison to Perisher/Thredbo the last few years. Last year some of the Queenstown slopes couldn't even open legitimately on opening day.

      I went to Turoa last year. Never seen a mountain shine so much in my life… ice.. everywhere…

        Last year Ruapehu in August was stunning. I landed just after 2 weeks of heavy snow storms and it was amazing. Blue sky and zero wind with fantastic snow depth. It's always a gamble… Think we paid under 200 a night in self-contained contained villa.
        Still my question stands…

          @googoogaga: It all depends on where you are coming from, usually much cheaper here in SEQ to get to NZ slopes than Thredbo/Perisher.

          I am in Brissie, so NZ is a much cheaper option with flights or without.
          Do people really pay 800 a night for a large room? Think Australia has gone completely mad.

          Was looking at trip to Big White for the family, it now seems cheap in comparison.

          @smurfy: so am I. I only go down to Perisher coz of mates. I would prefer Japan. With cheap flights and half price lift passes, it ends up being about the same.

    Keep in mind costco 2 day pass is limited to 1 day of beginner slopes then 2nd day full access. It's more orientated to beginners.

      Keep in mind this is an Southern Hemisphere skiing, beginner slopes with terrible machine made snow will probably be all that's open anyway.

    Im going to Thredbo in July and i still need to buy skiing pants and jacket. Where can i get some ozbargains on these? I turned up to the Aldi sale at 11am on the day and all that was remaining were 2 left handed gloves…..
