How to Get Jewellery Valued?

So my partner inherited some apparently high end jewellery and would like to get it valued. Where and how do you do this? Go to a jeweller or pawn shop?

    *Jewellery

  • Go to a trusted jeweller.

  • Cash converters

  • Go to a jeweller. A good one will give you a certificate of valuation and all the details of any gems and he gold type etc. usually costs a small fee like $60

    • this.
however its value is whatever you can sell it for.

Depends on what you need it valued for.

If you go to a jeweller the value they give you will be for insurance purposes only which is called replacement value.

This isn't how much it's worth or how much you could get for it. A pawnbroker may give you 20% of this value if you're having a lucky day

  • Thanks for the replies. Our intention would be to sell it eventually, as my partner isn't really into jewelry and it just sits hidden away in a safe. So we'd like to get it's value and then try to sell it.
