    MTTF 490,000 Hours

I leave my computer on for longer than that.

    • 56 years!?

      • Was gonna question this too.

        • +2

Clearly you haven't played 'Who can get the most up time!'?

      • So this was designed and started testing in 1961?

        • they do accelerate reliability testing, to predict MTBF or MTBR

        • @galaxiers:
They run a simulator that generates random numbers that are non binding anyway.

        • @Steptoe:
Having been around computers a bit longer than my noob and deadpan blindspotted friend, Galaxiers, yeah, the Seagate harddrives used to be lunchtime before failure.

    Thanks bought 2!

  • seems a good deal to me!

  • Noob to water cooling, does this need an external reservoir for coolant or is the system self contained? Do you need any ongoing maintenance to top up coolant?

    • +5

no. its basically plug and play.

treat it as a normal fan solution except it has all the water cooling bits integrated. no maintenance required and i wouldnt even attempt because they factory seal these units pretty well and if you fiddle with it, it might leak.

In my experience, these coolers are not much better than equivalent priced Air coolers. but one advantage is that you can exhaust the air out of the case via the placement of the radiator versus a normal air cooler where heat is dumped into the case.

      • +1

I think they're worse really. They're quite often louder, as the fans aren't super quite and you have pump noise and they certainly don't do a better job.

Plus there is always the risk of them leaking.

For this kind of money I'd much rather just buy a respectable air cooler and remove a lot of complexity from the system. To need a high end water cooler you really need to be pushing extreme overclocks.

The new Ryzen chips especially have rather good air coolers bundled with them, I'd rather spend the extra $50 on just getting a better CPU.

        • 212 evo or 212 hyper roughly equivalent to this? I need some kind of cooler better than stock so i can flog my 2500k as hard as possible

        • @airal3rt:

They would be similar, yep. However I couldn't recommend them, Coolermaster coolers have cheap, loud fans on them.

I'd pay more and get something Noctua, you can keep it onto your next system.

    • If you want to watercool, the only way to do it properly is a custom loop. They are expensive, fiddly, and a PITA. So make sure the need outweighs the cost.

  • Awesome price, unfortunately the blue LED would not fit the rest of my setup :(.

  • Does it come in 3 core?

  • Went to buy and the price is back up to $133 despite still showing up on their homepage at $49

    • +2

Wow. $133 for a single fan system? With a 20% ebay voucher I got the Corsair H115i for $160 from Futu Online

      • I got the h115i from futu aswell. Actually most of my pc came from them. Was a good sale.

  • +1

    Sold out

  • Was it a price error?

    • probably….time will tell.

    • +5

No, it was clearance according to phone support.

      • Ok. Fingers x'ed then! It's a very low price, even for a clearance item.

    • +3

Got it in an email this morning, so legit

      • cheers, I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did then.

        • I only just saw the email now though :( so missed out!

  • Noctua d15 ftw. Hehe. This one is on sale and still more expensive than noctua

    • U sure bout that?

      • +2

Yes mate. Google it. Unless you have dual rad that is 240+ put anyload or just a bit oc. These single tiny rad is a joke. Check out linus techtip jay2cent youtube and they will provide answer for you.even i test it myself. Anything under 160 cant beat noctua d15 or the one from crosair with similar layout

        • Yes the dh 15 is ~120 while the cooler is 55. So u expect the dh 15 to perform better

        • @Bargain4Days:
P/P if you look at the price. Spending that amount for less performance?

        • @hunterhalo:

          lol really?

  • +1

I bought one of these last year. Lasted 3 months before dying. A real shame.

    • Out of interest, how did it die?

      Pump failed?
      Fan(s) failed?
      Leaked?

      • +1

It didn't leak, it just turned off and didn't come back on.

  • Will this work on my Jaguar XJ12 radiator?

    • Yes.

  • Let's be honest we shouldn't have to be shopping for aftermarket coolers when we pay a few hundred for a CPU.

Built a new PC with a Ryzen 1600 recently. Impressed with the heat sink for this unit, and nearly silent fan. Higher models even better apparently.
So the AMD default is now fine unless you want massive overclocking. So much better than the pathetic Intel stock coolers.

I got the i7 6700K and it doesn't even come with a stock cooler haha. I've been running an Noctua D14 for about 6 years now and no issues with it, just slapped it on the new CPU.

I have used this and they failed after 1 year. Yes, my computer is on 24 / 7.

It has 3 year warranty, so make sure you claim warranty from Cooler master.

A lot of time, it is due to coolant leakage and it doesn't cool anymore. After so many failed, I decided to stick with Fans…. As I don't have time to muck around the computer.. The crappest thing about the mount, is the back plate has to go onto the back of the motherboard, everytime I need to change it, I have to take the whole motherboard out of the case.

    • Doh! Bitten by buy 1st ask questions later :-( thanks.

      • Got notification with an apology that item was already out of stock when I ordered so I will be refunded instead.

Woo-hoo, strange to be please with missing out on a "bargain" :-)
