Look into the Dovado PRO AC router or the TP-Link Archer MR200

      http://www.tp-link.com.au/products/details/cat-4691_Archer-M…

Both are about $200 dollars… the Archer is $179 from UMART or $200 from MSY.

The Dovado doesn't have a built in SIM slot, but you can plug in supported USB modem dongles.

      • Thanks buddy, it isnt cheap..am thinking to use for the optus month to month deal the other day. I will be googling the comparison between those you have said and from optus. Just wondering do you have any idea which is better? Cheers

Don't know about connect via ethernet cable, but if you want, you can get one of those 4g Modem Wifi like the Huawei E5573, then either use the wifi function or you can plug it to your laptop/PC with a micro usb to connect to the internet.

      • Thanks buddy, i am looking for the one run with ac power not battery as i will be moving to area which does not have nbn and all telco do not offer any connection not even adsl…

  • Anyone know the quality of that mousepad?

I have the normal QCK mini mousepad and I think its excellent. Compared to the ones my friends have (logitech and razer ones), mine feels decidedly smoother to use.

Just double check the size though - the mini is the size of a "normal" mouse pad already, so the normal version might be too big for your desk.

How times have changed … a DVD burner for $10.

We used to have to burn our DVDs manually with a lighter and magnifying glass, what an age we live in.

You were lucky. We had to use the sharpened bone of a fallen fellow caveman and bash the bytes into the side of a cliff face with a rock.

@PJC: You're lucky to have such words. We used to communicate in a series of grunts.

        • @skegger: Only 17 years ago a basic DVD player was about $1,000.

For anyone interested in the KB+mouse combo - I currently use it at work as I dislike default Dell KB and mice offered here. Must say, for the price the combo is pretty good. The keyboard looks cheap but feels alright to type on. The mouse is quite good IMO.

Feels like Gamdias is a red version of Razer.

  • Anyone know if the WL-WDN4800 comes with a half-height bracket? If not, any recommendations of one that does?
