  • I had a whole post ready for this because I was waiting for confirmation.. good find.

    • I was about to give up on posting it. I kept getting error messages that the store wasn't a top-rated seller so it refused to let me post. Then it somehow let me post anyway.

      • +2

I can send you my post if you would like, it covers all their deals. Btw it's InStyle.com.au as the alternate store.

        • yeah sure, I'll add it into the post

      • The warning said:

Deal cannot be posted for domain ebay.com.au (avgreatbuys) due to: eBay deals can only be posted if the seller is a top-rated seller. If the seller is not a top-rated seller but has an official website, just specify the website in the Store Domain field..

You selected a different store (Videopro's eBay page) but this has been fixed. Their store is instyle.com.au instylehifi.com.au.

i have no use for these but i still want them

  • +1

at what time will this deal become active?

    Don't worry, i'm blind.

  • Side point - anyone got any update on the noise cancelling "bug"? Not sure if I should update mine or not.

    • I upgraded mine without knowing about all the hubbub and it seemed to make no difference to noise cancelling.

I suspect it's all much ado about nothing. Ears are notoriously unreliable for measuring these things. That's why there's a market for directional audio leads and other such snake oil.

  • +1

Should we not wait to confirm the actual price first as it could be a 'no deal'?

    • It's entirely possible. Just posting this because there is a 10% off code activate at 12pm. This could save some people from buying from that sale if this one ends up pulling through.

I have QC 35 and its amazing

      Good review would read again

    • +1

I will purchase based on this review. You've sold me!

    • +1

      tl;dr

    • let me know if you need more detailed review :D

  • +2

Will you get a tax invoice showing the full $419 as paid?

    • ya, can you tax return with these? since it is an actual shop???

    • Depending on the seller, it is likely that there will be a clause that says 10% eBay promo code and deduct 10% to calculate final price, but on the invoice it should still say $419. At least that's what happened when I last bought with a 20% eBay sale with TED's Cameras.

    • +2

I can confirm that it does come with a tax invoice. It should arrive with your purchase. If it doesn't, you can request one from them directly.

I got an invoice with my QC20's about a month or so ago.

  • The QC20s are good. But be aware the battery is a non replaceable rechargeable; however, Bose say they should last for 1000 recharges.

    • thats good, if you charge it every day (I charge my QC35 every week) then you might have it for 3 years, which is a lot to me.

      • yeah, I only have to charge mine occassionally as well; it just really put me off the headphones to start with.

      • You are best to keep them charged as much as possible. The worst thing for the battery is to deplete to to empty every time. I have a pair of QC20 and when it's convenient, I give them a top up. I have had mine for over a year and no noticeable sign of shortening battery life and I would have had them on for 20-30+ hrs a week. Best headphones I have ever had.

        • yea Jimmej is right, I read an article about cellphones, the worst thing is to let them die and charge them. It's good to charge them frequently

    • Bose actually said 500 charge cycles before the battery only holds 80% instead of 100%.

      • thanks for clarification

  • Wondering about the sound quality and ability to drown out external noise of the Bose Bluetooth QC35 vs say the Sennheiser RS 195 (which don't have noise cancelling) for watching TV when my neighbours are noisy. I think I've read that bluetooth headphones aren't as good sound quality wise.

    • Sound quality wise: balanced sound stage; nothing spectacular about mids and highs although they are clear. Lows are little weak but it's balanced out by the excellent noise cancelling - you'll be able to hear bass during a commute which places it above non-nc headphones.

Noise cancellation is excellent, you won't be able to hear low pitch droning of voices through walls/AC etc. They don't cancel out voices or mid-high pitch sounds.

      • The worst of the neighbours noise is the bass from their stereo. I think any headphones will be enough to drown it out (noise cancelling or not) so the Sennheiser might be better as they are designed for TV.

        • Yeah while they drown low pitch buzzing, they probably only cancel 50% of discorded sounds like a car hitting a bump/beat of a bass speaker.

    • I use my QC35 to sleep in flights. Magically I can sleep during take offs. Not sure it's me or headphones :D

  • +2

Looks like they've killed the deal for the QC35. What a surprise

    • yep seeing 'item out of stock' for both black and silver.

deals starts at 4pm though right? hopefully more stock added then?

      • +2

They won't. $335 is too low of a price to sell qc35s at; they have stock but are choosing not to sell at that price.

Even if they reopen the deal, it'll most likely sell for $360+.

        Edit: that's exactly what happened.

      • +1

        Haha, yeah right.

More like, when the 20% sale is over, they will miraculously come back in stock.

    • You can buy now and pay later (with the code), can't you? Maybe that's what's happened…

      • no, they were both taken down same time so definitely a scumbag move.

  • Out of stock Luls inb4close

    • +6

Seriously… what is the point of these sales if they just price jack.

      Negging.

      • QC20 got jacked too. Seems they are doing it across the board.

Dick move, but who is surprised honestly?

        • That is true, but still dick moves like this turn me off from ever dealing with them.

        • @Grimninja1604: Yeah, it's super annoying. Doesn't look like they changed the price of anything else though. Seems like it's just the QC35 which was what most people were after.

        • +2

          @BlazinPast:

Yeah is rather annoying. Please don't take my neg as a neg to your work, but seller is a dick.

  • +1

    Qc35s are now $391.20 - Not a bargain.

  • Change the misleading title..

  • What's the cheapest item they sell? I wouldn't mind wasting a few $$ just to ruin their feedback score. I hate sellers like this!

    • it'll be an expensive neg. I think their feedback is too high to be affected by a few negs.

  • +3

    Such wankery…

  • +13

Sorry BlazinPast, I'm negging the seller, not you.

P.S. Note to OB moderators. I am suggesting if you guys can create a section in this site, a so called Black List where all sellers who have involved in the practice of price jacking in a sale, have their name and website permanently listed in that Black List so we members can just refer back to that list and avoid dealing with them ever again.

    • Wouldn't that mean we ban all ebay sales then ;)

      • +5

Not all sellers jack up their prices though during eBay sales.

        • You're right. Only 99% of them do.

      • I know you wrote in jest, but
        black list =/= ban list
It just gives members a hint to double check prices

    • Surprised how someone has not reported it to ACCC yet. Kogan was fined for ebay price jack in the past.

  • I thought eBay pays discounted amount to the seller?

    • +1

Yup, seller's just trying to make more money.

      • +1

We all shouldnt buy anything from them, so they can learn some lesson.
