    This could be handy, Margaret…

    • Corey would like this too.
I wonder if James would be the pilot? The mascot is orange

You mean 30%off the Velocity points required for you flight or 30%off the ticket price in $?

    Edit:
Ok just realised it's the former..

      OP please clarify the title.

      • or even in the body.

    • No it's the latter. Check fine print.

    WTH !
Tiger in bed with Virgin !

    • +6

I'm not surprised, we've known he was cheating on his wife for years.

    • Tiger is controlled by VA

  • Reckon Jetstar would price match?

  • I thought this is old news velocity points to be redeemed for Tiger points been going for awhile after virgin bought a controlling stake in tiger

    • Tigerair Australia is wholly owned by Virgin Australia

      • Branson at it again

        • Virgin Holdings owns only a small stake, ~8%, it's Etihad & Singapore Airlines that have majority ownership.

        • @Sir Casm:

They still parade him around as a figurehead, along with his inappropriate approaches to women e.g. Insisting they greet him on bikinis and the like.

Remember under his control, Virgin Blue hostile's were all 20 something's with blonde hair and big …. How things have changed.

        • @Sir Casm: EH, SQ, Nanshan Group, and HNA Innovation are the biggest shareholders in Virgin Australia Holdings which fully owns Tigerair Australia.

        • @hardya: Are you denying women the right to express their sexuality?

        • @jamesblake2908:

Nope. It is inappropriate that the policy stopped. Lol

      • I wasnt entirely sure however a number of years ago tiger singapore was rather big and quite cheap inline with airasia but I have since moved onto to sales on to full fare airlines due to baggage etc and it just works out to be a better deal(flew to japan last year non sale for 780 with jetstar with a layover in cairns when qantas on sale would have been cheaper include food and points and status credits.

  • Better value with paying cash or points?

  • I don't know why virgin don't do lounge access and normal award bookings for tiger, like Qantas do for Jetstar. would really encourage those who use Virgin for business to use Tiger for leisure rather than Jetstar.

    • Tiger ≠ Jetstar, not even close, for one Tiger has no premium cabin vs Jetstar's Star Class, and the way the brands are positioned means allowing the lower tier Tiger customers access to premium Virgin services devalues Virgin's offering.

      • Jetstar does not have star class on domestic routes and Tiger AU no longer flies internationally.

I'm pretty sure the free gold membership via flybuys does more to devalue it. Obviously, earning points or status on tiger would be out the question, but lounge access. It's not like domestic lounges are that :premium' anyway.

  • How does 30% off fare works? I checked through your link and separate, shows the same fare. Then when I log in with velocity membership account at the payment page it shows points req'd. Where do you get the 30% off fare price?

    • Yeah the op was a bit excited when posting.

Apparently its 30% less points required to book tiger flights then usual.

    • Tried and I think it's points discount, pity

  • +1

I tried to do a dummy booking of one way flight from OOL - MEL during the long weekend Cup but Tiger award seat costs more in velocity points than Virgin's.

    I just WTFLOL!

  • I remember last year I booked one way ticket from Sydney to Melbourne for 14000 velocity points. I am not sure on how many points needed under new offer

  • They have updated the link it was originally wrong

    Should work now

    It's off the fare.

  • What's the point of booking with these pricks, come close to the flight date they will most likely change the departure time or just cancel the flight for 'operational reasons'.

    • We have had about a dozen flights without hassle. The one delay was due to airport peak issues on a friday afternoon. YMMV.

    • Yeah Jetstar do that all the time. Hence thei ranking as worst airline in the world, even behind Aeroflot and the North Korean airline
