  • Nice price, but I get "We're sorry, this product is currently unavailable." when I enter a post code.

    • Yeah. We rang the Mackay store and they said there is no stock and won't order any in. They said the same with their Polaroid 65" ($799)

  • There's a Polaroid 4K for about $800. No worse than the Aldi job I guess, as both from Temp.

Wishing I bought the ChangHong from Bing Lee in the low 700's

  • Isn't JVC a respectable brand anymore?

    • +4

      Nope.

Isn't JVC a respectable brand anymore?

What clued you to that, it being sold at BigW?

JVC sold the rights to their name to a Chinese company many years ago, this is just cheap rubbish with a badge trying to fool people.

      • Alright boys, settle down…

        i didn't know this…

Used to be Japans Victor Company
Now its Just Victor of China

      • +1

Previously well known japanese brand names like Hitachi,JVC,Akai,Sharp,Sansui etc all now crappy chinese products.Dont touch it with a barge pole.

  • if you didn't care about JVC's quality these days and were gonna get this why not get the UHD version for $80 more?

EDIT: nvm looks like it's also out of stock

  • Any stock anywhere?

  • It beats the price of any Kogan, Soniq or Hisense for this size. Do you think it's any better or worse then the others? Just need a big tv in the spare room. 65" is the perfect size for this.

    • +12

Hisense is miles ahead of any of these brands. Far closer to a Sony/Samsung/LG than a Soniq.

  • No HDR is a deal breaker for me

    • +2

Does HDR even work in 1080p mode?

      • Sorry, I did mean to reply to the UHD one…doh!

        • In such a quality panel, HDR doesn't mean shit anyway…

Saying that, any LCD/LED even with HDR still has poor contrast / black level. What's the point? Crap tech.

  • I brought JVC TV, the menus are so slow I sold it few weeks later.

    • +1

Where did you bring it to?

  • +2

JVC sold the TV brand to a Chinese rebrander a few years ago. Expect this to go up in a puff of smoke in a year or two.

    • you mean the brand or the TV or both?! ;)

    • I have a no-name Chinese TV (Okano) that's been going perfectly for 6 years now. It was a bargain at the time ($1k for a 55" FHD) but it's pretty aged now. I can't justify replacing it while it keeps working though.

Same here, my bro in law bought a 37" acer with fhd (one of the first in Oz) and it's still going strong.

It was handed down to me for kids xbox duties and hasn't missed a beat.

Must be close to 15 years old now.

      • TV market was very different back then. These days most Chinese brands are cheap and crappy.

        • People said the same thing back then.

  • The 90's called, they want their headset back.
