    • +8

There were plenty back then I'm sure :) But if you mean 2018, this deal includes the dates you're after.

      • Looking to go during Christmas/New Years which doesn't seem to be included. :(

          obviously

        • Who would have thought.
No good deals during peak season… hmm

        • @Hirolol:

          It's winter but !

          @TightAssDrake:
It's Xmas/New Year. Doesn't matter where it is in the world, that's still peak season due to people travelling for those exact reasons.

There was a disco in San-fran-cisco

  • Would be great if clubbed with Amex qantas deal spend $400 get $50

  • Curse my obsessive saving. These prices are crazy and accomodation in SF would be free.

Are you referring to the homelessness there?

      • Nope, overpaid startup friends ;)

        • Do they actually have space? Since everyone in SF is an overpaid IT worker, being an overpaid IT worker doesn't make you rich.

        • I had a spare bedroom when I lived there in SoMa. Expensive, but paid enough by one of the bigger tech companies to come home with some savings. Moved back 12 months ago. Still saving.

  • Does anyone know why accommodation in San Fran is so expensive?

    • Shortage of accommodation in the bay area, expensive rents, high salaries on average, and it's a very popular tourist destination.

    • We stayed at the Lombard Motor inn….was about $200 a night. Great location.

    • Shortage of housing, tech boom driving up prices. I used Airbnb and it was very lovely in Hayes Valley. Right next door was City Hall… homeless bum magnet. Strange contrast from one side of a street to another.

  • is it mostly Qantas planes to SF or do they code share with AA (eek)?

    • just ask the passenger next to you to help you duct tape yourself to your seat.

    • 737 from memory operated by Qantas.

      • +4

You'd better hope it's not a 737, seeing as the longest range 737 won't quite make it half way from Sydney to San Francisco.

  • Just booked some flights. Cost just over 1000.
Note you have to pay extra 30bucks or so (possibly per leg) if you want to choose seats for international legs (if you buy a sale fare).
Virgin was very similar price (slightly lower) and had free seat selection. Also cashback on virgin 4.5%

    • Which site did you use to book?
