The z506 sounds so bad.
Go with Bose then…
awkward moment when i use Bose QC25 headphones lol only headphones that i'm conformable to use for hours and hours without them starting to hurt.
I only have 1st hand experience with the older X-530 and X-540. They can be made to sound quite okay but need tweaking. And they're reasonably loud. They are MUCH louder than my z623. And they have better mid and high tones as well. z623 has a deeper bass but not by much, and in head to head comparisons you can't beat the volume of the 5.1 speakers. I was utterly disappointed. Wasted just under $100 on these.
Sounds like you got faulty speakers cause i got the Z623 like 6 years ago to replace those exact speakers X-530 (mate had the Z506) and the bass was MUCH deeper than both of them.
Depth doesn't make up for anemic volume. I'm more a mid's kinda guy so a thumping bass doesn't do it for me anyway.
A friend got another set and had the same complaints…Bad batch? Possible. But not that likely.
I have some of these in my Virtual Pinball… love them for that. The Sub makes the whole cabinet shake at times and they are super loud for my purpose.
My son has another set in his bedroom and loves them so much. He loves the bassy sounds.
Was very disappointed when I bought these speakers. Was hoping for a 2.1 set up as loud as my old 5.1 X-530 speakers for use at the kid's parties but it isn't as loud AND the highs are buzzier. Ditch the THX nonsense and go with z506 instead.
