  • How do these compare to the MDR1000X?

    • +1

      Quick research suggests Sony.

  • Oops!

  • Great deal.
I was going to research PSB M4U2s this weekend as I have used and enjoy them but this….

    • The PSBs NC is pathetic at best from what I remember. I was deciding the same thing a year ago. I wasn't looking for NC though. So for NC alone this or QC35 is better. The SQ with NC turned on was also crap with the PSBs so the Sennheiser wins again. The PSBs aren't wireless either.

So if you're looking between both of those the Sennheiser wins hands down with the price drop. Usually you'd be comparing your PSBs with NAD viso hp50, B&W p7, B&O h6 and Oppo pm-3. All closed wired though with no NC. With wireless, SQ suffers for the convenience. Just depends what's more important to you.

  • QC35 vs these?

    • Reviews seem to say Bose for noise cancelling/comfort/price and these for bass/sound quality. Also iPhone for Bose and Android for Sennheisers..

  • Awesome price

  • Hi OP, nice deal there. Can you run some deals on entry level portable DAPs? Cheers

    • XDUOO X3 on eBay from $117.

      • Thanks mate. Any good deals of AK4490 based players?

        • Bit pricey.
Happy with my three X3s and an earlier X2 is OK.
Have two pairs K712 and an N2 IEM to go with them.
Very good sound. I have freaky good hearing.
UI might disappoint some. 256 GB is a lot to flip through. Meh,too busy listening to music :)

Ask on Whirlpool's Headphone thread. Surge is shure (sic) to have an opinion :)

  • I have one.

I've used up Qantas store sale with QFF points.

    I think I paid 18,054 points + $188.86 mid last year.

Its good headphone but at first it was little tight around my big head. not like bose ones.

Now I am kinda used to it. great headphone.

    • Same. I got it outright on points which was a deal. Amazing sound quality. The noise cancelling is good - I reckon on-par with QC35s

  • Recommend Sony for Sound
    Bose for comfort

  • I acquired these cans less than a week ago. I have never owned a QC35 so can't tell which is ultimately better. LinusTechTips has a review regarding these two IIRC. My mini uneducated review is
    Pros:
    - twisting the cans turns it on and off
    - quite compact when folded
    - sound is great. I'm not an audiophile but I have Dolby ATMOS EQ on my device which gives me fine control over my music
    - lightweight. They don't give me any discomfort even after long-term use
    - long battery life
    - can be used wired (although it uses a 2.5mm port)
    - noise isolation is good even with ANC turned off
    - touch controls for increasing/decreasing volume, skipping tracks and pausing/resuming playback

    Cons:
    - price is not for the faint of heart

    • have 2 sets - one for wife. awesome sets. incredible sound and VERY good bluetooth (fast and reliable) compared to the Bose BT which is flakey.

noise cancelling is excellent i find though some claim not quite as good as Bose.

  • I have had these for about 6 months. I love em but I have tried the QC35 and those are definitely more comfortable to wear for longer periods. If you have big ears then these ear cups might be a little tight. Touch interface is very good, much less fiddly than the buttons on the QC35 and I'd say audio is a bit better than QC but noise cancelling is a bit better on QC35.

  • i have one pair from last qantas ff points prom. still sealed, maybe should try it during my next travel.

  • +1

Been waiting for these to be on super discount for years, this is awesome. Grabbed a pair.

Looks like these have bumped up to 399 on the website now…

    • Hey, sorry there was an error in the listing. Have updated the deal. All orders placed already will be honoured. Cheers

  • Picked up these today for my old man 380 @HN in store

      • +1

Just bought it from HN as well… but paid $399 … lol

        • perhaps there is a factory reduction, allowing for newer models to come through.

        • @Toons: Yeah I thought the same… but travelling soon… can't wait longer for NC headphones .. and a TRS claim is always handy =)

        • @UrbionPT: yeah they are a great buy at the price

they will probably be over 600 still at the airport so something else to smile about while collecting your TRS

  • Sorry ATA i actually normally buy from you so keep up great work and service as soon as i can get a better price one 846's. ill be upgrading those still a bit too much of a bridge in price from the 535's that i love to death.

MY dad needed something quicker than i'd have been able to get them from OP

showed them the price from ATA on a whim expecting them to say they could knock off some but not that much.
Having a couple of backup options at the ready knowing my old man wouldn't go over the 400mark for something for himself.

low and behold i was almost knocked over when he said cool we can do them for 380, said ok and ended the conversation, just incase he had read something wrong on their system and proceeded to checkout post haste.
