Wish I had know this model was coming, I bought the 32Gb G4 Plus a few months ago, love it. But the faster CPU would of been nice.
I bough from Mobileciti online store (not eBay store), easy purchase with quick postage.

Lol I hate you all! I bought the 16gig and have not even recived it yet and you post continuious deals for 32…

Anyway anyone know which microsd would work best with mine lol.

    • Return/ask for exchange or sell it. It's worth the difference few years down the track!!

    • +1

I would go for Samsung Evo+. I have a few of those for my devices, phones, cameras, pocket modem… No problem at all.

      • +1

yeah …. fast card is the trick ……. Evo+ is good, so is Sandisk Extreme (not slow ultra). Pop one in and with android 7 you have 128GB of FAST phone.
We have a G4 in the household. People get bombed if they but slow mem cards because it's about WRITE speed, not read speed when filming or taking photos.

        • I had some good experience with Sandisk in the past, but recently, I got to exchange 3 times to get a good one, they all failed within 2 weeks, doesn't matter what devices I put in. That's why I tried Samsung and feel a lot better.

I am waiting for the discount from motorola.com.au. Anyone know if it's happening?

    • +1

Unlikely. I don't think I've seen them discount before, not that I've been paying much attention though.
Any reason you want to buy direct from Motorola?

      • Well, for the warranty. But anyway, hope Mobilciti does a fine job if the phone ever goes wrong. Bought a phone from DWI 5 months ago and now the GPS stopped working. Warranty with overseas retailer is a pain……

        • +3

          Hi shalala

no need to worry about issues, all mobile phone products we have list online/ebay come with manufacturer's warranty, replacement will be offer for DOA or 12 months warranty for all Motorola, we will always assist you with any warranty issues, you can alway send PM me if you have any issues.

          Thank you for your support!

        • +1

Most (if not all) phones on Mobileciti have local warranty, so can deal direct with Motorola Aus if needed.
DMI is cheap, but no local warranty, which is why I opted to buy from MobileCiti, no regrets.

    • +1

They usually only discount when it's almost end of line.

That said, this is most likely same stock. Motorola Australia (motorola.com.au) is run by Ingram Micro, who are a Lenovo/Motorola distributor in Australia. There appears to be only two Motorola distributors in Aus and it doesn't look like Sektor sell mobile phones.

I'm highly p***ed off actually, as I bought my G5 Plus from motorola.com.au as it said it was in stock, however it wasn't and only got shipped on Friday, after the Mobileciti sales started. When I ordered it Mobileciti said 2wks+, hence I got it from motorola.com.au.

      • Sorry to hear that bro~~

Bought a MI BOX from Lightinthebox on 18/5. On 23/5 they told me that it was shipped. The originator PostNL only received the package on 10/6 and very likely will receive the package at the end of June or early July. Will I go there again? No, never!

  • I've got the LG V20. Its too big for me. Havent made the move to switch from LG G4

How does the G5 Plus compare to V20? anyone? is it more like a downgrade?

    • +1

huge downgrade. V20 is a spec beast of a phone. i dont even think the G5 plus would be all that much smaller in every day use.

see if you can snag a cheap LG G5 if you want something smaller but still powerful. theyre a real dark-horse phone.

    • +2

on paper it is a downgrade. But depends what you use it for.
IMO this a great value all round phone. The LG V20 is a flagship phone for LG. Correct me if i'm wrong but local stock of LGV20 costs about $200 more.
Biggest things you may be missing are the better quality audio and camera on LG V20. But you can have a look at review of g5 plus camera and decide for yourself.

  • Make sure it has a 'magnetometer sensor' if you want to use any compass apps. My brand new Moto G5 (not G5 plus) doesn't! I didn't know the international version missed out on having one but the US version does. All of the reviews I read ofc were US.

Wanted to use my Wifi radar app but it needs compass support and I'm so mad it isn't included on the international G5…

    • +3

The US models a magnetometer sensor whereas the International models have NFC (on front under moto logo).
I'm not sure why the difference, but personally I find NFC more useful.

      • +1

Believe USA version has compass due to regulations, Auz G5+ has NFC but no compass, budget phone..

      • +1

Believe USA version has compass due to regulations, Auz G5+ has NFC but no compass, budget phone..

        Does US have both?

Anyway, point is ppl need to be aware of the differences or the end up rather cranky like myself…

        • Specs on GSM Arena have the differences between US & International model.
My understanding is that it is an either/or choice and some people in US are frustrated that NFC is missing, which demonstrates you cannot please everyone.

Can't upvote this enough. Got mine last week from the 15% code on the Wednesday and mobileciti are awesome. Very happy with the phone and the customer service.

  • I just cracked my phone so I'm in the market for a new one.

How is this vs the BlackBerry Priv http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/382068080691 ??

    Anyone, any thoughts ?

    • I've used the Priv for 18 months now, being a big BlackBerry fan. It's a great phone overall but the processor can get a little hot/laggy, also I'm not sure if we are going to see Android 7 upgrade. It's getting a little on in age now, I'd advise you wait a month or so and get a BlackBerry KEYone instead should be appearing here through Hong Kong sites at least soon. It's got great reviews and is a better device.

      • Thank you… Unfortunately, I'm phoneless now for the last 4 days and it's getting on my nerves and my wife's.

        Need a phone :/

        • Ah yeah, you can't go wrong with this G5 Plus, it's a good mid range phone. Same amount of RAM as the Priv, although a lesser processor, it's newer & doesn't heat up/lag like the Priv. You also get fingerprint scanner and newer Android than the Priv. If you really wanted a keyboard this might be a good phone to keep you going until a KEYone bargain comes up, then you can sell the G5 Plus and upgrade.

        • @hamza23: Saw the video, really impressive.

I would buy one, no doubts about it.

How much will be available for ?

        • @zapy:

It's hard to say. It's US $549, so maybe RRP $799ish. Might be able to get it $600-$700 from HK with the help of an eBay code or similar I hope or wait for it to drop in price. You pay a little premium for the keyboard and a unique phone, you can certainly get a regular slab phone with similar specs for cheaper.

  • Nooo… 32/4gb not available anymoreeee

  • Keen on the 32gb. It appears the only place you can get this is Motorola direct or Mobileciti (now out of stock). If only Harvey Norman had it, even at retail price with the Amex $50 cashback it would be a good deal.

  • @mobileciti Do you have an ETA for the 32/4GB G5 Plus?

    • +2

      Hi LoubgeLizard

Hopefully tomorrow, will keep update here.

      Thanks!

      • Thanks!

      • Need a phone as well, pref 32/4.

        Keep up updated pls.

        • Will do, Thanks for showing your interest!

      • Any chance you will be getting the gold one in 32/4 as well? :)

        • +1

Yes, but won't be alot, have to cover the back order first and let you know if we have extras.

          Thx again!

        • @mobileciti: Looking for the 4GB one as well, any news?
I believe "CLAP10" ends today as well.

          Ordered - thanks!

      • Thanks, ordered

    • G5 Plus 32GB/4GB $386 here now if you didn't already purchased.

  • Moto G5 Plus 32/4 or Moto Z play ??

    Anyone ?

    • Personally, Z Play.
For the mods and the pretty stellar battery life.

  • Now I saw, MicroUSB … uh… not very fun of that.

    I've been with USB-C, I saw the light !
