Interesting it ends on Wed. Wonder if it'll be before they release the hump day special this week???

      • +8

        20% storewide!! fingers crossed

        • Here's hoping!!!!!

        • +2

          your fingers are gonna hurt

        • Next Code name: FINGERCROSSED20

      • Ends June 15 = Thursday.
        Is it 12.01AM finish maybe?

        • No, sorry, got my dates wrong T&Cs say 23:59 on 15/6. So yay we get to see what is offered on Wed and decide which one to take advantage of! :)

EBays marketing department motto is 'spray and pray'

    • +4

Odds are with site wide sales you can pick something up without rampant price jacking happening. Plus more retailers to pick from

      • yes, I needed new wahl hair clips …..no jack-up pricing also a few xiaomo mi box 3 for sale, also now jackup pricing.

      • Yeah but ebay hate doing it this way too often because when it's sitewide it's eBay that pays the discount, rather than the store wearing 15% out of 20%. This is a big reason for the price jacking.. Many products such as IT don't have a 15% margin to start with

        • FeeBay 😀

How do you get to know deals before they even start?

Humbled to be invited by eBay to their Sydney office yesterday to discuss EOFY promos & deals through June.

      from here

      • I don't think we should be giving him any insider info, (check the username) just sayin

  • +5

    This is getting ridiculous..

  • +23

EBay's completely lost it now that Amazon's at our doorstep.

    • +13

Typical comment without substance that appears on every eBay deal post these days.

      • +15

Don't you worry, the price-jacking army is on their way as well.

      • +1

Just like the ridiculous comment above

    • If there's any prior experience to look and predict eBay's future here it would be the US. Has ebay lost it there?

      • Does US eBay regularly have luck of the draw targeted offers?

Do they hold X% sales only to introduce larger % sales within the same time-span of a day, thus screwing over buyers who were impatient or didn't know better?

  • +1

Bruh, this is a love hate relationship.

  • +14

Waiting for 15% like last week.

  • +2

I reckon there will be a better deal on Wednesday.

  • +3

wondering if there will be a follow up 15% like last time. Got shafted $50 due to that lameness.

  • +2

We are all waiting for the 15% deal :)

  • Not a week goes by now where we don't receive an eBay discount :)

    • +3

Eofy coming up. Accounting needs to get their numbers up

  • +13

    15% or gtfo eBay

    • +33

I reckon 20% or gtfo eBay!

      • +14

        I reckon just gtfo eBay!

        • +5

          FO eBay?

      • +1

20% is almost impossible if they're doing it sitewide. The best I've seen for 20% off are either for selected stores only or something like 20$ off for 100$ or 10$off for 50$ purchase.

        • +1

They've done 20% sitewide before. Or how about the sitewide 50% of bbqs? We need some more of those :) Weber probably met their yearly sales target from that sale alone.

        • -1

          @fruxo:

Er they've never done 20% off sitewide before, only up to 15%.

        • @johnjones8:

They've done 20% off site wide before. I think it was max $100 off though from memory.

        • @djlee: when?

        • @wxyz234:

          Nov 2014.

        • @johnjones8:
I bought stuff from both 20% off sitewide and 50% off bbqs :) but yeah, it's been a while.

        • @johnjones8: They have done 40% off several month before. 20 off 50 spend

If you only plan to spend $50 or $100. You can just wait 10 off 50 ,15 off 75, 20 off 100

        • @djlee:
Also did 20% off sitewide in June 2015 (I checked against my purchase). I'm not talking about $20 of $100 purchase of course, that's a different thing.

        • @fruxo:
If you go through my link, it looks like yours would have been one of those sales limited to about 17 retailers, so not sitewide.

Not sure why ppl are being so nitpicky since we're clearly talking about sitewide deals like the 15% off last wed ie not limited to certain catogories or a few stores or only 20 off the first 50.

        • @johnjones8:
I've already spent more time on this than I should by finding the invoice to double check it was 20% and to check the date :) it was definitely sitewide. I'm sure you can find ozbargain link if you try. I bought a camera lens from japanese store. Clearly not from set list of retailers.

        • @johnjones8: They have definitely done 20% sitewide before. It was some code meant for the UK, but they quickly pulled it after a few hours. Unlikely a 20% site wide code will last for a few days like a 10% code.

  • +6

Not worth using since its basically guaranteed that they are going to have more 15% off sales. They are probably going to have a deal like 20% for $200+ spend on the last wednesday of June to end off with a "bang."

    • +1

  • 10%, 15%… What's next 50% ? Someone plase halp!! My PayPal account is taking a thrashing!!

  • Excellent.

This could be helpful for the hourly Hump Sales on Wednesday given this code is valid till thursday.

  • Hmm..have a feeling 20% storewide is coming soon? Any insider news?

    • sitewide is much better though, for storewide the chances woulb be all participated stores will jack up their price before the promotion started.

  • +1

they will be going with a big bang before the GST on low-value imported goods hits everyone (and amazon kicks in).

      • Can't read that - "Subscriber-only article"

        • +3

''The recommendation, which still has to be approved by Treasury, means plans to cut the low-value threshold on imported online products will not kick in on July 1, 2017 as previously planned but be implemented 12 months later.''

        • Strange, usually putting it as the google link is how you get around the paywall (worked for me clicking it). But dingdong quoted the relevant part.

        • To summarise, article reads - "Been delayed till next year".

        • +2

Turn off javascript, or Google cache usually works too

      • thats odd because I received an email from Amazon stating from July they ARE collecting gst on all payments

    • the thing for these sites is that they aren't actually the sellers, so it will be interesting how gst would be collected …… which aliexpress, ebay and Amazon keep on telling people, they aren't the owners of the goods, they bring buyers and sellers together.

Don't expect ground trembling discounts via Amazon, the prices are often higher than Ebay for overseas items BUT they have the edge with cheap shipping (consolidated freight), which overseas Ebay sellers often don't if they use US post.

      • Amazon shipping usually makes it too expensive.

  • oh man, so tempting. Should I wait out for the 15% or 20% sitewide.

    • i will.

Sometimes Tim Tams are $2 each at Coles. Other days they are 2 for $5. Coles really need to make up their mind. It's getting ridiculous now. They must be getting desperate. What are they doing?

    • +19

      What are you doing?

      • -5

Taking the piss out of people losing their shit over eBay's 5%, 10% and 15% off sales.

        • +3

Leave the Tim Tams out of this, they're all we have left in this belligerent, godforsaken world!

        • @Baebs: Mint slices then?

        • $2 for one Tim Tam is outrageous, I'd expect a whole packet for that much..

        • Sitewide sales are a bit different though… sellers aren't taking a hit like they do with the 20% ones

        • @Baebs:
Hope you're buying the original and not the speciality flavours as you get 2 biscuits less in those packs!

        • @kev98: Which is often the case for brands in supermarkets. No loss when their products go on sale.

  • +2

I win! I won some stuff over the weekend, and specifically waited to pay in case something like this showed up.

    • +6

Thanks for letting us know, I was only just wondering if you were going to get anything.

      • +2

Same here. phew. that was a close one.

      • You're welcome.

      • Damn you eBay….I pulled the trigger too early.

  • Well got a Nintendo Switch with this code so happy with that.

    • Which store/seller did you go with? Target is still out of stock :*

      • how much?

      • I went for a 2nd hand.
