  • Thanks! It's a great way for me to get these deals but ignore their junkmail etc

  • Merged from [PC] FREE Steam key - Numba Deluxe (still free- not expired) - Indiegala

This has been posted some days ago and was marked expired (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/312701). In fact, it is not expired but was just moved to a different page. Since I cannot unexpire that deal and it is technically a different URL I am posting this deal again for those of you who missed it before.
The freebie is still available. Grab it while you can before it really expires.

    • Good pick up, Lysander. 👍

    • Please report to moderators if an existing deal needs expiry removed. Thanks

      • Or maybe enable regular posters for a store to do just that.

Plus, how does it work with statistics if posts are merged?

Technically, the deal was posted by two different people with different URL, so if I understand correctly this would conform to rules as two distinct deals due to the web address being different or do the rules fail in this case?

        • Or maybe enable regular posters for a store to do just that

There should be any need - you could either add a comment to the original deal to tell the OP to remove expiry, or report the deal so that moderators can remove the expiry.

how does it work with statistics if posts are merged?

The merged deal no longer remains published so would not count towards statistics.

The deal is for the same product from the same store at the same price (free), even if the store has placed the banner on a different page. The store could even place banners on multiple pages, and it would not make sense to allow multiple deals for each URL.

The only time when the same deal can be posted again is if satisfies the duplciate exception in terms of time between the two posts.

I will mark this conversation as off-topic as it is not related to the deal itself. If you wish to discuss further please use TWAM. Thanks.

        • @moocher:

"The merged deal no longer remains published so would not count towards statistics."

Pretty unfair and not exactly to correct mistakes like this.

"There should be any need - you could either add a comment to the original deal to tell the OP to remove expiry, or report the deal so that moderators can remove the expiry."

This does not work when it is 4am and you plus all other mods are asleep and so is the original poster (or logged out).
By delaying some people could miss out if the deal disappears until the morning, especially for stores based in Europe and running to European time.
Hence "powerposters" for a particular store should be able to remove expiry - easiest and most time-efficient solution for everyone.
