  this TV is only about $1800 in USA and China, and here is $2999. Even the discount is $500 more expensive.

    $1800 US is $2370 on a good rate conversion.

    Than you are forgetting the fact US pays tax ontop of their purchase price, bringing the conversion to closer to $2700…. so paying $2400 locally seems well better…

    Australia isn't as screwed as people always make out to be.

        The website linked says $2000 US, plus tax that's $2200 easily. Which is around $3k Australian. How is that being screwed here? Not to mention the countless other factors influencing price, we are getting anything but.
