Norton Security/Norton 360, ($4 AUD for 90 Days) or ($16 for 360 Days - (Read Post)), 1 Key for 10 Computers @ Chipnetvn eBay

70

Hey guys, first post ever on Ozbargain.

Disclaimer: I am not associated with this ebay account.

So this deal allows you to purchase a Norton Norton Security/Norton 360 subscription for $4 and it is valid for 90 days which can be used up to 10 computers with the same key. Which turns out to be $16 for 360 days (almost a year) which is the cheapest I've seen so far. However, the 90 days start counting down from the day of purchase, and it cannot be stacked. (More information is provided in the ebay link or message buyer.) This deal is subject to expire at any time or if the seller has no codes left.

The buyer has 99.9% feedback ratio with all of his transactions selling this item. Can also confirm it's working and have 53/90 days left remaining.

Thanks guys.

  • Interesting. Looks like they're non-stackable OEM licenses, which are usually meant to be packaged alongside off-the-shelf laptops / desktops etc. Hence the short expiry.

    • So would it be stackable or not? can anyone confirm?

      • +1

It won't stack as per the eBay post but it can be used to renew your old subscription for another 90 days.

Genuinely curious why this comment is being down voted lol its the truth ?

      • when was the last time you used Norton? You're downvoted probably because you're negging based on something you don't like; i.e. it's not the truth that it slows your comp down. I have this on four devices, and everything runs perfectly fine. If you don't like the software fine but there's no need to neg.

      • Because your just like the BOSE mob. You gotta chime in to say a product sucks when you have no clue. If these people actually tried it and then came back saying it sucks, yes then that is valid, however it most cases, it's because they perceive the item to be a ripoff or because 'everyone' says so, so they side without evidence, which is one reason why so many innocent people got burnt alive during the dark ages, BS hearsay. I think if you try Norton now, it is leaps and bounds better than the product it was 5 years+ ago.

Sound's like a rubbish excuse to downvote me lmao i have used this product before specifically 3 months ago slowed my pc down switched to avast free and had 0 issues in slow downs after i updated to windows 10 didn't use either haven't had a single issue

Neg all you want norton is rubbish

        • @User1488: Just tried installing Avast Premier trial because I am always keen on an app that uses less memory. Installed on Windows 10.. Gave it a clean reboot and it shows Avast behavior shield 24mb + firewall service 12mb, avast service 17mb =53mb memory total. Norton is 30mb+4mb=34mb. HUGE difference! Tried installing on 2 PCs to make sure it wasn't isolated to just 1 PC and see the same memory consumption. Whatever was slowing you down was not Norton.

        • @overshopper: tried uninstalling it when it asked if i want to switch to Free Antivirus version instead so I opted YES.. results now show after clean reboot: service 20mb + shield 15mb + avast antivirus engine 9mb = 44mb. Improved memory usage but now I lose the Firewall. Despite this, Norton wins at just 34mb memory consumption with ALL features enabled (e.g. Firewall, Antispam, Phishing protection etc). I do like the Software Updater on Avast though. Lets me know of any outdated mainstream software and auto updates it.

        • @overshopper:

Only issue i have with this and just throwing it out there im not a software engineer or expert just a experienced user is that as far as my knowledge goes ram usage isn't the only factor in performance impact if that was the case you could install whatever you wanted or multiple antiviruses and assuming you had 16gb ram which most people do these days you'd basically never cap memory usage which means going by your method you would never experience a slow down so

Go install 400 apps and have 60+ startup items ensure your ram usage isn't capped and let me know if it slows your pc down if your method is right you won't slow down assuming your ram isn't capped if my method is right your going to slow down regardless if your ram is capped

          Peace

@User1488: Yes, I agree, its not the main factor but it is an important factor. My firefox crawls to a snail when I hit over 2000MB (2GB) of RAM… I still have 16GB and heaps of RAM free, but the browser is virtually unusable when it hits this high. Restarting it, goes back to about 300MB and its speedy again. Norton IS use to be a real hog but I think with all the complaints and over $1 billion poured into R&D, they really have changed things around. I doubt any other AV vendor spends that much on their software R&D. There are a few pesky issues with Norton, but it's still the top 3 according to various AV sites including https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/windows-10… FYI, I have not been down voting you. Another key issue we should be looking at is memory leaks. Firefox leaks memory over time severely, thus why I always need to restart it after leaving it on for a few days. Norton never leaks. It is always constantly around that figure. From my research, it appears Malwarebytes is a huge memory hog, uses up to 230MB of memory, but after it does all its initial scanning from reboot, it settles to about 120mb.. still bloated. I also tried Avira, which installs about 10 services and uses over 200MB+ of ram. Must be the worst out of the lot, but surprisingly a few sites gave it top marks. I guess whatever works for you, is best.

    Junk software.

Norton does ok these days compared to the annoying bloatware of yesteryear.

Netflix might have dumped their AV vendor but they replaced it with SentinelOne which is a lot more expensive than getting Norton at the consumer level.

I've had Norton on my home computers for the last couple of years and I haven't had any issues with it. Seems to have detected its fair share of worms and malware from stuff I've downloaded off the net.

This is a genuine bargain, if the licence really does work for 10 computers for 1 year. Seems unfair to be negging the deal just because you have an issue with Norton.

On OzB Norton is like Crocs. Every time someone posts a deal for these, the nay-Sayers jump up to have their say :)

I am a satisfied Norton user. Nothings perfect - but they have a big team working on it everyday. Has definitely saved me a few times.

    Great price.

OP - what does $16 for 360 Days mean? How do you get a 360 day licence?

    • Best way possible to explain this is, you can buy a license for $4 that you use for 90 days however do not buy multiple at a time, as they do not stack. So after you finish your 90 days than buy another code to renew it for another 90 days.

    • +4

He means to buy four of the 90-day license codes, and to use them one by one every 90 days as they expire.
