These have replaced my pizza diet

Would highly recommend that you stay away from these. Taste horrible in my opinion.

Each to their own I suppose. Many love them.

      • do they have your seal of approval TA?

    • +2

Agreed. It's the worst pork dumpling I tried.

      • +4

I didn't like them either. Definitely a fan of the KB's prawn gyoza though

I don't think they actually have any meat in it. It doesn't taste like pork; doesn't taste like dumplings and it doesn't even look like dumplings.

    • +2

agreed, tried them once, wouldn't buy them again, even at 1/2 price

    • +2

Tried them last time and these were the worst frozen dumplings I've ever had.
Even at "half price", you would need to really be "Crazy" to buy them.

These taste much much better imo. Good to stock up when their $2.50.

The best ones I've tasted are

I swear they used to sell em at Coles as well but can't find them there anymore, or on their website. Strange.

They used to be 1/2 price back a few months ago at Coles. Was awesome. Flour was chewy, prawns were fresh and even included sauce.

We stocked up. They are awesome and I've tried almost every brand.

edit: Check out the reviews for it:

these ones are very good. i keep them stocked up too
i dont like the prawn gyoza ones that seem to be popular here because i find the filling very mushy and not interesting

      • Same here. Me and my missus are not big fans of the Prawn Gyoza or Green Curry Prawn Dumplings.

They just seem to go all mushy or breakup when you heat them up. Really not that great.

Okay so I found out the reason why I can't find it on Coles. Coles are idiots lol.

They have it called "Mr Chen's Prawn Hargow" whilst other stores call it Chan's Prawn Hargow.

The factory that makes it is http://www.chansyumcha.com.au/ so Coles did a typo there.

      The label also says Chan's.

Hargow and dumplings have similarities, however are still very different.

Other than that, these are pretty good, I think costco sells them as well, great if you have a yumcha craving

For dumplings I would suggest looking at your local Asian grocery as well.

      • Yeah Costco sells the same brand but instead 300g, it comes in 1kg boxes. Damn… lol

i see them a coles.. always out of stock when its 1/2 price
      agree these are great steamed

    • Whilst they taste ok, these are made in Vietnam so may not subjected to the same food standard as Crazy Dragon or the one linked above

Seriously, if you live in Sydney, you can easily find tasty Chinese dumpling in almost all Asian grocery stores in the freezer. My favourites is Shanghai Chinese Cabbage and Pork Dumpling by ABC Pastry, 600g for about $5. Or Hakka dumpling also good. You can pan fried them or just boil it, eat it chilly oil and black vinegar. I tried the KB prawn gyoza and don't like the slimy fillings, and I felt bad when I threw the rest in the bin.
