Eveready Super Heavy Duty AA 20pk - $5 @ The Good Guys [Free C&C]

150

Stumbled across these on The Good Guys site. If buying lots or other things on eBay, consider buying via eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121993160734). Same price, but 5% off $30 or $20 off $100 can apply (see https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/ebay.com.au) or 20% off with CGOOD (til 2017-07-01).

Sure, they're not Eneloops but they're good value if you need a large quantity of AA batteries. By comparison, a 10pk at Woolworths is currently $6.

The Eveready Everyday AA Gold Battery 20 Pack is filled with Super Heavy Duty batteries that are ideal for regular usage of moderate power demand devices like torches, toys and clocks. Always have a pack of these carbon zinc batteries handy in your drawer because you never know when you might need them! They offer long life performance for frequent use.

These weren't very highly recommended the last time they were posted on ozbargain at this price- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/280321

  • thanks. stocked up :)

  • Yeah I bought these last time, and they tend to run out really quickly. I put some in a little handheld whisk, and a week later they need to be replaced

    Bulk disposable batteries in 2017.
    LOL.

Respect to OP, who I'm sure meant well, but do not purchase batteries whose packaging uses the word Duty, regardless of the preceding superlatives. Not even Mega-Definite Omnipotent Universal Duty. Varta Alkalines at Bunnings are good value. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4243556/redir

100% agree, I'm not a greenie but carbon zinc batteries are just rubbish and probably shouldn't be sold.

30 Varta AAs for $10 @ Bunnings is much better value.

Not worth it even for free. Literally. Think of the fish in the bottom of the sea:

    Go rechargeables.
Source: Long time Duracell user. Not a crazy user of batteries, but couple of remotes, wireless keyboard and xbox controllers, my Eneloop pack has already paid itself within a year. The pack was of course bought from a deal posted on OzB.
    Edit: Corrected the brand name

For those of you who might be close to thinking "how bad are they?"

For about 31 Australian dollars (delivered) you can get a Panasonic 'Advanced' charger with 4 individual channels bundled with 4x AA eneloops: https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-K-KJ17MCA4BA-Individual-Rec… To run it here you can get a $1 travel adaptor, if you don't mind using unapproved cheapy Chinese travel adapters from ebay. Charger is World voltage capable. So that's around 32 or 33 dollars.

Hardly highway robbery & a great start to your eneloop collection. Dick only sometimes had half-decent deals on 8xAA packs and so on. But they aren't expensive sourcing from overseas. Not really. Dick's normal prices were about double retail, so their sales weren't hugely beneficial. Only a few were good.

        • @cheepwun: So just the batteries with no charger? Damn! These Eneloops are expensive! Plus, whenever I try to buy something from Amazon there's way too much cost for delivery at the end, and I just cancel it. Never bought anything physical from Amazon yet, other than eBooks. I am all eBay kinda guy.

Edit: Sorry. I've just realized the charger is included. I think I need to get glasses. haha

          @AussieDaddy:
Yes, it's not so bad, even after conversion. And of course you can buy more batteries in the same order, if you want. It normally doesn't add too much to the postage…but check.
