  • The integrated GPU sort of kills it. The plus side, spare slot for a 2nd HDD.

    • When I was researching mobile workstations, it was difficult to find a workstation-grade unit without a discrete GPU. (As in not a consumer-grade unit that'll hit thermal throttling after a minute of use.) Limited options at that end, when one doesn't need the extra graphics processing capability which would just result in a more hot and bothered user! Integrated GPU can be a good thing!

      • Dont discrete graphics cards in laptops only activate when they are needed?

        • Yea they do, but when they do get used, the ordinary laptop housings heat up pretty fast.

    • It's very rare for a business laptop to have discrete GPU. When they do it's usually workstation graphics like Quadro series (and the price goes up very sharply).

Apparently there is a variant with 940mx GPU but it's probably only available when you CTO (custom order).

  • I asked on another Lenovo deal what the difference was, was wondering if it compared this this one?

  • Feck, why did this pop up after I've bought that Macbook Pro?

    • it's different to a macbook pro both in build and operating system ….. so it depends on if you wanted a mac or a windows machine …… like iphone vs android both are a phone but different phones. ….. but yeah to run office browser and a few apps macbook can be an expensive investment …….

  • How is this laptop? I am looking for a 14" laptop for my uni.

    • It's a proper work laptop. Quite a bit ahead of most laptops in the price range.

CPU is also quad core, not the power saving dual core kind you see in other laptops like Macbook, so it'll run quick (but more power hungry).

    • It's a bit of a tank due to battery bulge and has a large power supply too. Wouldn't be my pick for lugging around.

    • it's a corporate grade laptop ….. we use T series in gov as one of the std offerings along with dell…… so built tougher than the E series which i have at home.

  • Deal is back on! Different eBay code.
Anyone know if 16GB is single slot or does it take up both? Also do modern systems perform poorly with asymmetric RAM IE 8GB One slot and 16 in the other?
