What's up with everyone buying GoPros when Sony's action cameras are far superior to GoPro? The Sony FDR-X3000 is much better than the GoPro Hero 5 in every way possible.

OT: Please elaborate? You sound like you're just a part of a herd of sheep that flock to GoPro. Similar to iPhone users that think every other phone is useless junk.
The Sony FDR-X3000 shits all over GoPro. If you have a proper argument or point to refute what I've said go ahead.
I have a Sony and I came to regret buying it.
Sony, in desire to be original got something few things wrong: the mount, the ON led, waterproof and microphone.
- I'm a motorcyclist and I can't use the normal (helmet) mount and have a quick swap for the selfie stick. I can't use the normal mount and have a quick swap for the waterproof case.
Every time I want to use the camera for something different, I have to unscrew the mount. I need to find either a car/house key or a screwdriver.
When the camera is in any position that I can't directly see above, I don't actually know if the camera is on or off and I have to fiddle with it to find out. And again, if the sun shines behind me, I can't see the rear LED or the top LED unless I cover the camera.
It's not waterproof only splash proof. If it pours outside and I don't have to waterproof case with me, I risk damaging the camera if I use it. As a conclusion, I don't.
When you want to use the waterproof case, you have to unscrew the mount, put the case on, screw the mount again. It's pissing me off every time.
Sony, image quality maybe, usability… well below GoPro.
I see I see. I have used both cameras (Hero5 and FDR-X3000) and my main requirements are stabilisation and picture quality and the Sony excels there. The optical image stabilisation is so good and has no negative effects on the image quality which is a problem seen in digital image stabilisation in the older Sony models and the GoPro series.
I don't really switch around mounts and such so I have not come across the problems you have experienced.
You should leave this feedback to Sony if you haven't already, it seems like useful information they could use to improve in the future.Thanks for the response.
