Charging for Lots of Xiaomi Products

I've got a Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13 (the notebook) and also a Xiaomi Redmi 4 prime like a true ozbargainer and both are charged using the Chinese to Australian adapter. I was wondering if anyone has a better idea since the laptop plug is really heavy and seems to slide out of the wall sockets. Ideally I'd be interested in one device that would remove my need for using adapters but if that isn't possible, then is there a replacement charger for my laptop I can use?

  • correct me if i'm wrong, but it's all USB-C? if so you have way too much options. if you often plug use a monitor, a USB-C one will also do the charging with a single cable. a bit overpriced, but the apple charger (especially the cable) is great. will set you back 140 though

    • Woops, the laptop is USB-C whilst the phone is still the microusb. Cheers, I'll have a look into it

  • What is your charge look like? it normally come with two part, the plug you should always easily replace by seraching it on ebay.

you can buy an adapter with usb port like this

    • Unfortunately it is only one whole part so I can't replace the plug. Do you think I would be able to use something like this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/311563 and charge a laptop from usb to usb c?

        I dont think so 40W can power a laptop, minimum 60W - 90W

        • If I'm not mistaken the Mi Notebook is using USB-PD and the minimum is 45w.

      • Superglue an AU plug Adapter to the genuine charger and buy a short extension cord so it can rest on the floor.

  • You'll probably need another Xiaomi to be added to your collection. I think it's better to use your laptop's charger as it's rated at providing sufficient power.

    • Thanks! Looks like what I was hoping to find and would go well with my powerbank, earphones, and watch.

Official Xiaomi adapter is using USB-PD at 45w. Something like the Anker PowerPort+ will charge the Mi Notebook and your other gadgets up to 5V/2.4a.
