  • can you spend skype gift cards on anything else apart from calls?

    • +5

Yep can get office 365 personal

      • cool. using my good play credit currently but good to know.
can you use it for home subscription (to share with other household members aswell)

        • No only personal

      • But that's off the Microsoft price? I find other online stores for office 365 are sometimes below 50% of the Microsoft price.

      • Can you please elaborate? I googled and can see that with office 365, 1 hour skype calls come free per month. But using skype credits to get office 365? More info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

        • +1

You choose a Skype subscription and it comes with 365 personal

        • @aussman: Thanks a lot. I have a Skype Premium ongoing subscription, which just renewed. Seems not all subscriptions include it.

I found this - providing some info:

Yes, when you buy an eligible* Skype calling subscription, we will include a subscription to Office 365 Personal absolutely free

          Also,

When you purchase your Skype subscription, we’ll send you a confirmation email. You will also receive an email from Microsoft telling you everything you need to know about activating your Office 365 Personal subscription.

I don't think Skype Premium includes it because the confirmation email I receive did not refer to it.

          Edit: These subscriptions include it:

          • Australia 300 mins mobiles and landlines with Office 365 Personal
          • World unlimited mins with Office 365 Personal including Australia landlines

  • SWEEEET

  • Wow. Super early notice.

  • Wow Thanks for the post. was looking for this since long time

  • Can anyone explain to me with Skype credits you can only make a phone call only when you have an internet connection?

    • yes, that's right, it's a internet phone service

      • I guess it's not entirely true. You can make an overseas Skype call using Skype To Go numbers when you don't have an internet connection, which will of course cost extra local phone charge (unless you have a phone package that allows an unlimited local call)

  • Can I port a number to Skype?

    • nah. but u can set up caller id with your number so every time u call/text from skype the receiver will see your number.

  • I suppose this is a good way to call back from overseas as long as you got internet access logon to Skype.

    • not necessarily. Check out Skype To Go

      • Then what is this good for?

        • You can make a phone call with or without an internet connection. For making a call without internet access, you have to call a local number (you have to register for Skype To Go) first and then dial your desired overseas number (local call charge applies).

  • Can you purchase a Skype Number subscription with this?

    • Yep, sure can. That's what I use the gift cards for primarily.

  • Can someone tell me why you need to pay for Skype when u can make Internet calls already like whatsapp, viber, FaceTime etc…

    • In Skype, you can make calls to mobile and landline even though the other person doesn't have an internet connection or installed Skype.

In case of Whatsapp/Viber/Facetime, the other person should have the app and should be connected to Internet.

      • So basically thats the only benefit, to pay because the person ur calling isn't connected. Damn the other person lol

Great for calling gran, and other elderly persons who do not use skype/whatsapp etc :-)

          @bluesky:

They are all in aust, so mobile is basically free.

        • +1

@cloudy: For those with overseas grans :-)

    • if u socially awkward and dont make many voice call, the pay as you go plan is the best deal there is. the credit doesnt expire. u can use it to call to and from overseas as well. too bad they shut down skype wifi which could be handy if u travel overseas.

    • Also handy for calling local numbers (there) when you are overseas if you don't have a local SIM.

  • It's a pity they have completely rooted the iOS version with their latest update.

  • Anyone had any luck finding stock in store. I went to two stores this morning and they didn't have any. Definitely didn't sell out given I was there early, so Coles advertising something they have no stock of.

    • I went to Brandon park coles, they had heaps…

      • Looks like they got them delivered today.

Does anyone know if these expire? Wanted to buy 5 of them just to keep…

    • +1

expires in a year from date of issue. better redeem them all and keep them as credit because credit doesnt expire.

  • PriceHike, GST will be added to any existing and New Skype Subscription start of August 2017.

  • Anybody in Melbourne able to get it? Which Coles store? I went to Coburg North Coles and they had heaps except they didn't scan, so I wasn't able to buy them even after asking the Supervisor.

    • Coburg North VIC removed all Skype gift cards from sale. I checked again later this evening at 6pm 7/7/2017.

      • +Vote Thanks. All good. There's still more $25 Skype gift cards in Coburg Coles VIC. The store in Coburg North near my place had problems selling them like I said.

  • everytime I go to local coals they run out of these.

Can coles order them in at the 50% price or anyone else match….maybe Officeworks?

  • Ugh nobody has any in stock. What a rip off went to a number in Sydney and it of Sydney.. Anyone got any suggestions of where I can find some?
