Hand Crafted by Geoff Hardy Mclaren Vale Shiraz $131.75/Dozen @ Deals.com.au

GRIND15

I've bought a heap of Geoff Hardy Wines, and I have to admit I've been impressed with all of them. I'm all wined up, but I thought I'd put this up for the other vino lovers. It's a great price at $10.98 a bottle (RRP $30 at cellar door, selling for $12.50 a bottle at mywineguy)

That price includes postage. Total gets adjusted when you proceed to payment method

Other deals available (I can personally recommend the Family Blend with a 1-2hr decant, at $7 a bottle its a top quaffer)

  • Thanks I got the Hand Crafted by Geoff Hardy Mclaren Vale Shiraz :-)

    • Thanks for supporting our family's wines. Some great deals and great pricing here. :-)

    Nice find! Been a Geoff Hardy fan for more than a decade, but not yet tried his Handcrafted releases.

    • "hand crafted" - what a load of bullhonky, the process of wine making on an industrial scale doesn't change just because they give it some fancy hipster name.

        Hi Sir Casm - Richard Dolan CEO, Wines by Geoff Hardy. In fairness, the vast majority of the Hand Crafted range are literally just that - Total production on a number of the wines is less than 150dozen. As a smaller, family producer, I can only wish we were big enough to be making wine on an industrial scale! All the best Richard.

        • Ok, so which part of the process, besides placing the bottles into cardboard boxes is done by hand?

          @Sir Casm:

          Relax mate, no need for the sircasm lol

          I used to live in Adelaide and have been to many different wineries. There are heaps of smaller wineries that use smaller scale equipment, some take you around and show you the process if it's not too busy at the cellar door.

          Although, I am also wondering how the handcrafted range is made different to other processes? From the website "which are all made from hand-selected, premium fruit from vineyards around South Australia."

        • @Sir Casm: Picking. Crushing (one year we did some of them using feet but Foot Crafted doesn't quite have the same ring!) Pumping Over ferments. Certainly not all of the range but certainly those smaller bottlings. If you fancy joining in one year, let me know :-)

          @RD ADL:

          Thanks for clarifying, and for the invitation, but no thanks, bit too bohemian for my liking.

          @Sir Casm: hahaha. Funny. Love it. All the best, RD.

    • Thanks Canberradj for the endorsement. Aside from the sparkling and the shiraz, they do tend to be more of the emerging (to Australia) wine varieites such as Teroldego, Nero d'Avola, Fiano, Gruner Veltliner and more. Hope you enjoy. Cheers Richard, CEO, Wines by Geoff Hardy.

    Nice find! Looks like a decent deal, trying to find a good shiraz dozen for gifts.

    I've had the K1 red sparkling by Geoff Hardy which was great, but never been to the cellar door to try the other reds.

    OP - how do u rate the handcrafted shiraz compared to other mclaren vale reds?

    • +1

      @G Wok Sorry I cant personally rate the Handcrafted Shiraz as I haven't had it myself, I just know it was a good price, and others around seem to like it. 93 points from Tony Keys, if you go by the wine taster scores. I've liked all GH wines - my personal favourite is still the 2015 Pertaringa Over The Top
