    I still can't justify business or even prem econ seats for the price… I guess I'm too much of an OzBargainer. When Virgin economy is still quite OK and is priced at about $900 direct to LAX, thousands of $$ extra for a comfier seat when that could be used for so much more during the holiday…

      My policy is always fly economy and splurge during the trip.

      Why spend $$$ on a few hours flight while I could use the money (better hotel, food, entertainment…etc) during the trip.

        If it was half again the cost of economy I'd think about it! But yeah, you're still in the same metal tube, you're not going to get there any faster, and thousands of dollars to feel slightly more comfortable for 13 hours isn't worth it!
