Took me awhile to post coz I was trying to figure out of I wanted one for myself first
As it was I missed out on the one I wanted which was a 1017 for $399 =(

Better than the 30%off JB-hiFi was offering a few months back when the 20's were about to come out. But then again the models listed are the older 2007-2009 generations.

      I just called Pioneer Customer Care. All units will be scratched, dented or both. Dents can be anywhere except the front panel. Scratches can be anywhere including the front panel. Hope this helps.

    My current receiver has dents and scratches and it no way impedes the sound quality. ;)

    Wow talk about old models! The 30% off JB regularly seems to have on Pioneer receivers is better in my opinion.
