OnePlus 5 USD $489.99 | AUD $665.95 @ Gearbest | Free Shipping

ONEPLUS4G

I saw this on the front page of the Gearbest mobile app. Only available for 200 units.

When I went on the desktop website, it was listed with a different coupon 'OnePlus5' for the price of $579.99.
The app shows the coupon 'OnePlus4G' for the price of USD 489.99. When I used the coupon, this converted to AUD 665.95 which is about $20 over the actual conversion.

I am not sure what Gearbest is doing here but it still seems to be a good price.

I probably wouldn't buy this phone at this stage, not with half of the phone being upside down. Disappointing from OnePlus.

    • sorry, what do you mean? (apologies for my slow-ness)

      • People are having problems with their touch screens and it has been proven it is due to the screen been installed 180 degrees (upside down). Similar reports of the audio being upside down as well I think?

        • thankyou Beaver! appreciate it

        • Yeah, but it's not upside down due to an accident - that's how they've put the component in on purpose.

      • Dupe.

      Just note their note:

This is the Chinese variant which does not have the Google Play Store App pre-installed.

Stay away - risky phone. Especially at the asking price of these things…. Not far off the main stream phones.

What a shame I was hoping to buy one.

    • dammit!!!! same! now I'm questioning

    • It seems a minor issue and not really a functional problem.

What I don't get is that - if I understand it correctly - the inverted screen causes an visual artifact when scrolling down.
This would be from the line by line drawing of the LCD pixels coming from the 'bottom' up and the refresh of the screen with this line ordering and the displayed motion of the image moving down (probably more visible on text or high contrast edges) causes this effect …. so wouldn't most phones then have the same effect when they scroll text or images UP on their screens? Is it just people mostly scroll down and don't notice up or is something else going on?

      • o well I got the phone………. lol

  • I got the phone while ebay 15% off, 8gb/128gb for $700. Extremely happy with the phone, no jelly effect, no wifi problem.
