Just received an email [Existing Amex users only].

Subject to these Terms and Conditions and the American Express Credit Card Conditions, you are eligible for a promotional low interest rate of 3.99% p.a. for all new purchases charged to your Account from 05 July 2017 to 05 January 2018 provided you choose to carry a balance.
There will be no change to the interest rate on any existing Account balance at the time of your enrolment in this Offer. Any remaining purchases balance on your Account after 05 January 2018 will attract the standard rate of interest applicable to purchases at that time.
The low rate of 3.99% expires on 05 January 2018. The number of months your balance will attract a low interest rate will depend on the date of purchase.
Cash advances, balance transfers, charges for travellers cheques, fees and commissions are not purchases and do not qualify for the promotional low interest rate for purchases.
If you entered into the agreement for your Card with American Express before 1 July 2012, we may apply any payments you make to amounts having the lowest interest rate first.
Please ensure the Thank You page successfully loads as confirmation of your enrolment in this promotion. Please also note that if you enrol on a Saturday, the promotional rate offer will commence the next day (i.e. Sunday).

  This is for existing customers..so yeah it a deal because normal interest rate is 15% or something .

its not bad actually, its not a balance transfer, so no paperwork and needing to get approved by another CC. Just a temporary reduction of the usual interest rate which is somewhere between 12-20% i believe

I just accepted an offer for 9% interest rate, which is about half what i usually have. Nothing special, but still nice
