What if it's stolen by someone not from their company?

  • won't it attract 10% GST now that it's July?

      From July 2018.

you cant brag about this one to your mates since its a no name brand :)

    • The app is the thing that makes the doorbell work. Good luck with a Chinese app.

    • I have this Digoo doorbell.
It takes 20 seconds delay for the notification so most of the times my postman has left.

  • Cant deliver to my postcode!

  • Wonder when this will get HomeKit support…

What transformer are people buying for this?

I have successfully used both of the following with my Ring Pro.

      Power point version (24VAC)
      https://www.jaycar.com.au/mains-adaptor-24vac-1a-unregulated…

Bare end version (set to 18VAC, don't run any lower as under 16VAC is known to brick the unit)
      https://www.jaycar.com.au/12v-18v-18va-1a-multi-tapped-type-…

      Hope this helps

      • It does thanks. Is it worth getting a 24vac bare end version?

        • +1

          Doesn't really matter

Ring Pro accepts 16-24VAC. The 24VAC one above will plug into a powerpoint so if that's your connection method then go with that. Otherwise the 18V is fine if hardwiring to mains

Ring doesn't seem to advertise how many amps the Pro draws but i've had no dramas with each of these which allow 1amp, works a treat

Edit: Just realised you said 24VAC bare end, but yeah still doesn't matter

  • Thanks was looking today at this, someone took pavers which were left on my nature strip, suppose my fault for leaving there….

Anyone know if this is ok for hardwired AUD? I don't know anything about connecting and have an electrician coming soon so he can do this too. Was also looking on their website for the indoor chime and wanted to know if that would effect connection being 2.4GHz only and the Doorbell pro is 5Ghz? It mentions plug adaptors are included so I think I should be all good inside?

I'm thinking to start with this then add a 2nd at some point or go for the Arlo Pro for secondary as no charge for storage?

    • someone took pavers which were left on my nature strip

nature strip is council property… maybe the council took them?

      • They only took 3/4 of them, I had used what I needed but more the principal of taking them.

    • As long as your wireless router/ap supports both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz there should be no issue. The Doorbell and the Chime don't connect to each other directly, they just both connect to the wifi available then phone home into the Ring cloud, and the connection is brokered there

Here in Melbourne, people put unwanted goods on nature strip and anyone who wants them just pulls up and takes them. Quaint custom but easy way of recycling. Can also book date for Council to pick up your junk in some areas.

    • Probably the same here in Adelaide. Wasn't really worth much but was going to add to others to make it look like a better package to sell. Some guy knocked yesterday to ask if he could have them, said I'd get back to him but today they are gone. I can see it as my fault, been there for weeks…. But would like something to see what went down, like this camera

      • Probably too far for the motion sensor to see them

  • I have one of these. Very good unit. Unlikely to get stolen as it will send the photo of the thief to the owner hehe.

    • Hi, can you share how long the delay for notification to pop up from pressing the bell?
      thanks

  • They sell these in Costco now, I think was around $299 mark

    • Bris?

  • Back to $249 USD. Went to place order just then and it was going to be $357 shipped to Adelaide
