Description:

Use the Zhiyun-Tech Smooth-Q gimbal stabilizer to capture smooth handheld footage with your smartphone. This gimbal features a maximum load capacity of 7.8 ounces, meaning it can handle heavier smartphones such as the iPhone 7 Plus or accessories such as add-on lenses.           For electronic gimbal that has good review, Zhiyun is the cheapest I could find. If you really want to spend less, you can go with manual gimbal like this for $20-$30, however, you have to really adjust the weight manually.

      Pilotfly C45 is great because it allows for a clear view of the camera screen while you shoot. No other gimbal on the market can do that yet. The C45 is also made specifically for the RX100 and is more compact than other gimbals.

    I'd love this. Considering software does a reasonable job of stabilisation is there something similar but less sophisticated and cheaper for a everyday guy?

      There are cheaper gimbals on eBay and various Chinese online sellers, but they are less sophisticated with only 1 or 2 axis stabilisation.

    Picked this up a week ago with an eBay sale for $140 but this one will have local warranty. I also owned the DJI Osmo mobile and this one is 99% as good but 500% better value.

      No, this is for smartphone. I think Zhiyun also sell bracket adapter for GoPro to fit on it, but not with the waterproof case on.

        They negging because you can use it with the gopro without the case as the OP mentioned.

        The reason I'm asking is coz I wonder if it will survive a snow trip. I don't need my gopro as well as the gimbal to both die in the one week.

          Thanks for correcting me.
          I just checked YouTube and it shows you can hold the GoPro on both sides with the clamps, without needing the adapter. Not sure if the clamps can extend wide enough to hold the waterproof case though.

      You risk it by paying them via bank transfer, dwi has the tendency not to ship items and you have to fight to get your refund. PayPal at least gives some protection.

        bought items from them in the past with same payment method, all seems fine (hope this one clear fine too). Agree Paypal protection is better (approx. $6 extra) although dispute process is not straight forward either.

    Bought this a month ago and if you check Zhiyun pages and YouTube users are starting to have issues.

    My battery has drained and needs recharging every day, is a fantastic gimbal but experience kinda soured by this. Of course my experience isn't representative of everyone's, but a downer considering it started failing on me while I was on holiday and needed it the most.

    That being said it works very well and doesn't need a counterweight like the Feo brand or whatever it is

    I have a Feiyutech G4. Way ahead of it's time but great for the GoPro cameras. These things do a great job stabilizing stuff.

      Hmm good point everything online has just mhsic dubbed over it. Blunty who is a pretty popular tech reviewer has a video of a pre production smooth q and it seems okay for day to day type vlogs.

    FYI this gimbal comes with the carrying case as displayed in this video according to DWI online support. This was the only thing stopping me really.

      Got mine today. It's quite normal for them to ship via DHL for standard shipping. They always seem to do that for me. I don't know how else it'd arrive in 4-7 days? Auspost barely works that fast.

      Also, DWI is a HK based company. They are a well-known grey market distributor of electronics.
