I think they jacked up the prices. A fare I've been watching the last couple of weeks still costs the same today even after the 20% discount.

    • Wow you sure?
I've just recently booked. I'm guessing its too late to somehow get this discount to apply to those booked tickets?

Yes the price has been increased and noticed when I checked international fairs.

Part of their "shake,, rattle and roll" sale?

  • +1

    Yup, definitely not real.
I was about to make a booking on the weekend and it didn't go through. With the 20% it's the same price.

  • Air Asia cut their prices, they've even cut their maintenance budget so you can attempt to fly with one engine!

  • Voting down cause of shake up and discount

  • Confirmed they inflated the price, but after 20% off, still $5 cheaper, thanks AirAsia.. >.<

I will confirm the flight I was looking at- KUL-PER Oct 20 has increased by $23.00. I'm more than pleased I skipped AA for Tiger/Scoot (Dreamliner) for my homeward voyage. At $140 I'm departing a real airport (KLIA) not KLIA2, and connecting through Changi with 2 hrs in transit, and WHAT an airport to be stranded at!! haha. Total connection time 8 1/2 hrs. The AA equivalent would be 5 1/2 hrs @ $133 so I win win win. I, and others, have posted warnings on OzB re: the walking distances involved at KLIA2 which caused me to miss my flight home earlier this year- and before the 'negs' start, be aware I was there 2 hours before departure. When QZ8501 (SIN-Surabaya) went down last December, they of course lost custom and hence went deeper into the red. The D7237 made that return to Perth with a fault last month, this may incur further losses. I will mention that while the pilot asking passengers to pray caused a furore, I will not disagree with his actions. All staff would have been praying to Allah, so why not passengers? I travel to Malaysia many times per year and, although being a heathen, I know Allah looks after me whilst there. I have the utmost respect for their religion, and country, and the Malays are wonderful and respect/accept anyone with or without beliefs. Allahu Akbar…rant over..
AA: Whereby many years ago a special was a special, now they increase fares, then discount, for the balance books. My flight out on Aug 20 is with Malindo- I state this as they emailed me today and they have reduced by $40 Perth/Brissie fares to KUL. Full service, luggage, meal, drink and no poxy CC fee. Whereas once, a dollar was a dollar and I'd fly the cheapest- I now question AA safety record.

    • This behaviour is very common with AirAsia

Scoot is great. Transit through Changi with of of the best airport in the world has to offer, not some second class budget airport. Haven't flown on Air Asia in years

      • Thanks for commenting. First time with Scoot and looking forward to it. I do avoid Airasia due to my comment re: missed flight. Agreed- held in transit at Changi for 2 hours woo hoo
