I am not sure, but can guess it's probably the new WD "Advanced Format" drives which are causing massive performance problems for many hardware developers. Many non-computer (and Windows XP)devices cannot suit these new drives due to the strange (non-standard) sector formatting.
Shipping is expensive. I just checked and its $16.90 (Sydney). Even with the 5% discount the total still cames to $81.60.

To watch ABC news 24, GEM and 7Mate you need to purchase a HD STB. SD boxes are unable to decode these channels.
576i, we called that HD? We bought all there expensive BIG HDTV, enjoyed for sometime and suddenly no more. Do you know how terrible 576i on 46" or MORE HDTV?
Like years ago 256k we called that broadband.
I believe they will put 1080i channels back when more bandwidth frees up after the analog phase out.

I just bought a Full HD LCD, and am expecting delivery of it today. It's only a 23" LCD, but still, i was looking forward to getting Full HD TV. :(
Anyone know what the UI is like on these cheap set top boxes? I know its not a tivo, but are there any fatal flaws in the UI that are likely to make you throw the thing in the bin?
I always have plenty of spare hard drives lying around so the bring-your-own-drive approach would otherwise work for me.
