Sign Form for Refund from Shopping Square. Is This Normal?

Hello Everyone

Basically after i saw special on ozbargain about 10000mAh Xiaomi powerbank 2.0 on the 20/5/17 i jump onto their site and bought 1. Now still in process of dispute and resolution with Paypal for refund as i still haven't receive the item. Shoppingsquare want me to sign a form and email back before refund can be process..is that normal or even compulsory? or should i just escalate t with Paypal and let them deal with shoppingsquare? definitely my first and last item from shoppingsquare!!

I'm still waiting on mine as well.

I Sent the below last week. Have just sent them another message informing them it has still not arrived.

    Dear XXX,

    We apologize for any inconvenience.

We have checked records for your order #XXX with our warehouse team and found out the following tracking details.

    Courier: Flyt express
    Tracking #XXX
    Tracking information: http://www.flytexpress.com/

Based on tracking it shows that parcel landed Australia on 2017-06-05 and was handled to Aust post for delivery on 2017-06-07 via a non tracking parcel. The estimated delivery by then could take around 7-15 working days.

Please be assured we had dispatched the item on time from our end but do not have much control over parcels in transit while they are under AU Post handling.

We believe the parcel is currently in transit. We kindly request you to provide until early next week to see if the order turns up. If in case you still did not receive the item by then please simply reply us back and we will provide you with a solution immediately.

Again our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

    Best Regards,
    Customer Service Team

    • So another week has gone by with no items. I got given the print out, sign, email form that basically says if I get the items after they send a replacement I have to send them back… Probably one of the most poorly written attempts at an agreement I've ever read. The below is just great…

XXX agrees to send back the item back to Apus Corporation Pty Ltd if the courier finds the missing item and send to XXX after Zapals Tech provides refund or replacement to XXX.

Yeah I don't think so. After 6 weeks the chances of seeing the item is minimal and I'm not going to be held reaponsible for anything if it magically shows up. Paypal can sort it out instead.

  • sign the form with a half dodgy signature and send it back, every time you take something back to meyer or burnings etc they get you to sign the receipt.

  • thanks drew22 :)

Noraneko: Yep got exact same email and told me to wait longer….by the 6 July i lodge with Payapl because even ebay doesn't take that long! even got Australia post to track number: #XXXPK and they said doesn't exist and can't track it either.

Tomorrow i'll ring Paypal see if i have to jump hoop or just escalate, lesion learnt with shoppingsquare.

  • RowdyAlpha—> but we talking about online..how do we sign? print->sign->scan->upload back computer->email/send? hence i said jump hoop :) Banggood and Gearbest happy to refund after 4-5wks and not ask to sign anything. Again signing normal anyone?

    • Agreed - for an eCommerce store to want you to do that is just silly.

Even with Myer it's ridiculous unless it's a cash refund (evidence refund was received). Otherwise if it's processed back on to a card, they should be comparing to make sure it's going back onto the same card, and there's the evidence. But at least at a B&M store, you're not having to print/scan.

  • electronic signature, but read carefully what your signing.

just an update for those interested…got off phone with Paypal and customer don't have to sign anything especially when non receive parcel and now they escalate to a claim. Good to see Paypal really support customer.
