Oh just received mine from overseas from their last deal for $26 oh well.

    • +6

Same here! Just be aware. All up, I received mine about 8 weeks from placing the order.

      • +2

Can second that. Takes nearly 2 months to arrive.

    • +1

How long did yours take to arrive?

      • Ordered on 8May.

If I knew not local stock I will not pay extra.

        • Not bad delivery time actually!!

        • @Jase2801:

But some received in a few days.

        • @superforever:

i'm pretty sure the listings tell you that.
Hence why you used to be able to choose between local vs overseas posted micro sd cards when i was ordering. YOu probably didn't read the listing fully i assume? Still a long time :(

        • @SaberX:

My deal from last eBay 20% off so cannot select.

  • +1

Nice deal just bought one thanks

  • +3

I love this portable charger, charges quick and holds a good amount of battery. Better than anything you'll find on the shelves in aus for the price.

    • +1

      Shipping?

    • +3

      Doesn't ship to Australia

  • +2

Thanks bought the black one which is same price!

    • +2

It is actually very dark blue.

  • +1

    Grabbed one - thanks Jase2801

  • +1

    Thanks OP, got one.

  • -4

hell yeah just picked one up, at least this mob delivers unlike gearbest and the rest of those clowns

    • Is this from experience or are you just passing on BS

      • +2

No, he flew to HK and picked one up. He didn't have to wait 8 weeks like everyone else.

        • and no it never arrived

  • Hi might be a silly question does this charge an iPad(5th Gen)as well.
    Thanks in advance.

    • +2

Will charge anything that plug in via usb

      • +3

Will it charge my usb memory stick?

        • +1

          YES already.

        • +2

@xdirex: No. If you insert a USB flash drive, the flash drive ends up charging the charger. It is set to go in reverse.

        • +3

Noo don't do it, or the lizard people will awake and come for our buns.

        • @lostn: That's only because here in Australia all the bits are flipped. if we were in the NH the flash drive would get charged.

      • Can you charge this charger with another charger?

        • +1

Yes. You can do a closed circuit, charger A chargers charger B which charges charger A. The current just gets traded back and forth.

Have you ever inserted a mirror right in front of another mirror and wondered what you would see if you looked in one?

        • @lostn: The way to destroy one of them is to charge it from itself. Happened by accident with my Romoss.

Although surprised it only got damaged, not destroyed. It went very hot and never has reached full capacity since.

        • +1

@team teri: How do you accidentally do something like that?

        • @lostn: By being too lazy to unplug the cable that I used to recharge my phone from the power bank - and then by mistake plugging that micro-USB end into the input instead of the micro-USB coming from the wall charger.

        • @team teri: How long did you leave it self charging for?

        • @lostn: Probably 12 hours. I only got suspicious when the charge level was going down instead of up.

  • +5

Cheap, but don't expect even half decent customer service. I got the 5000mah one when it was $10 and it took just over 7 weeks to arrive… When I messaged to find out if they had sent it, it took them a week to respond

  • How many times can it charge an iphone or ipad in one fully charged powerbank?

    • +4

      iPhone = 3x
      iPad = 1.5x - 2x

  • Can only charge one device at a time?

Can anyone recommend a good case for it?

    • +1

Find those material pouches on eBay. This (profanity) scratches phones bad

      • Didn't know people even bothered getting ases for a powerbank. Really? Seems like a waste of time and money to me personally.. just IMHO. I mean it's a powerbank, unless you love it for its look and fashion statement but I doubt anyone would notice some scuffs and scratches? Maybe i just look after mine but they still look perfectly fine.

        • I only use them because they are silicon so they don't slide around on surfaces and when next to the phone. For like $1.80 (iirc) off eBay, seems worth it to me.

        • I've got a few powerbanks. This particular one gets very ugly, very noticeable scratches in its really nice frosted surface. This is one reason to just get the blitzwolf qc 3, as the price of this plus a silicone case is pretty close.

Also the Blitzwolf charges noticeably faster

  • +2

    Hi,
Can I keep the power bank plugged in continuously to the charger?, bcoz I want to use this as a backup power to my security camera in case of power failure. Thanks!

    • no

    • +1

Yeah I think it is, on the spec it say support two way charging. And as far as I know all the xiaomi support this feature, only the new anker has removed.

    • +2

Even if it could why would you use a power bank to ensure power to your security camera? UPS would probably be way more reliable and more of a charge I'd hope?

    • +2

This is called pass through charging and Xiaomi charger support it. I have older model 5000mah and 10000mah and I use it this way to power wifi dongle 24/7. The only downside is the output reduced to 1amp when doing pass through charging.

  • +1

Just bought the Silver .. black is out of stock .. Thanks OP

    • It's back in stock.

  • Mine is dead. Worked for a couple of months and died this week.

    • +1

Bad luck! I have 7 powerbanks of different reputable brands(Anker,Xiaomi,ZMI,Blitzwolf,Asus) and different capacities and the oldest is 3 years old and every one of them still works.

    • My 5000 also died exactly after a year. Kind of torn as to whether a backup is necessary.

  • +2

    Bought one. Thanks OP.

  • +2

Thanks OP bought one, my last Xiaomi power bank was great

  • +1

Thank you op, been after one :D

  • Damn bought 3 weeks back for $30, owell

  • +2

It is 3 times thinner. Does it shrink into nothingness and then pop out the other side in a negative dimension.

One of my pet peeves; http://timesless.com

  • +1

Can someone please tell me where can i find silicone cases for this battery.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

Been holding off buying one for a while, always question the value of having one. That is until my phone is on that last few % and in that moment a battery bank becomes worth its weight in gold.

Sounds like most people have a long wait with shippung but maybe the sea currents are better this time of year.

  • So Power Bank 2 is thinner than Power Bank 1 right? When they said thinner than predecessors were they referring to 10,000mah predecessor, or things like the 16,000mah?

    • +2

This Power Bank is thinner then all of Xiaomi Predecessor Powerbank except the 5000mAh.

Source: Own almost all the models of the Xiaomi Power Bank except the 16800mAh due the OzBargain…

  • Link a recommended cover please?

  • How in the world is shipping cheaper for items stocked overseas vs the Australian stock ($1 vs $5 shipping)? I've always wondered how Chinese sellers on eBay AU turn a profit on things I buy for $1 shipped.

    • +1

Don't assume normal cost/profit structures for this stuff. One way to think about is if you know a significant percentage of people will pay extra to ship locally and you can make a (small?) profit by knowing this.. then what you lose on overseas shipping you'll make up on the other option.

Differential pricing when you are trying to get all the price points to capture value is fascinating.. and I assume a large number of OzBargainers think about this when shopping and comparing deals :)

  • I have ordered a few micro SD card with this as well.
If the power bank gets a delayed delivery, any chance they will split the shipment and send me the memory card sooner?

  • +1

Hope it won't disappoint me and not going to be a long long delivery date :)

    Thx OP.

  • Thanks OP, just bought one.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good, short (20-50cm) quick charging cable for my Xiaomi phone (microUSB 2.0)

    Cheers

    • I'm currently using the short Tronsmart microUSB that comes in the 5 Pack that Geekbuying is selling - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/306369

Not that many option for 30cm/1foot cables.

    • +3

The power bank should come with an ~30cm Microusb cable, and they're of decent quality. Stay away from the tronsmart 5 pack cables- they wear out very quickly and this is documented on many of the past deals on them.

      • I have an older version of the Tronsmart cable from years ago, the quality was great. Must be lower quality now.

  • +1

Highly recommend this device. I took one with me while travelling and it was a lifesaver. It's small enough to put in your pocket and carry everywhere. Wouldn't have been able to take as many photos without it.

  • Is the quick charging only for charging the power bank? Or is it for output too?

    • +2

      For both input and output.

  • +1

    Ordered. Cheers OP

  • +1

Highly recommended . Fast charger. Able to hold the charge on my MacBook Pro with a USB-a to USB-c cable. Powerful enough to run amazon echo dot

    • Had the previous gen version, it is showing as a 10W power source, does it say anything different with the new version?

      • there are two figures, one states 15W and one says 18W, the label is in chinese so not sure which is input or output

  • I see AU$21.95 at checkout. Am I doing something wrong?

    • At the end of it all, I was charged AU$22.95. And, I thought the deal was AU$20.76?

      • +2

I think you paid for insurance. You had to untick the box before you completely checkout.

Edit: or they have raised the price.

  • Can anyone recommend cheap stock but in Australia? Happy to pay extra $25-30?

  • I'm a bit worry here as I haven't receive it so far.

    • Same here, any update on yours mate?

      • got a feedback from sq, says I'll have to wait for 2 more weeks.

        • Havn't got mine either.

  • Soooo, has anyone received their Power Bank yet…

    • I haven't received mine yet. I would have been the first one to order it just before I posted the deal. I have read some comments from other posts. Some received it within 14 day and some took as long as 8 weeks. Hopefully it's not 8 weeks!!!!!
