The Xiao Mi Robot is better value. Much newer tech. The 630 is about 5 years old if im not mistaken
It's performance is on par with the superior iRobot 980

Really, really old and really, really bad.

As swimmingtoad mentioned, the Xiaomi bot is streets ahead of this and is roughly the same price and comes with WiFi and proper pathing and much better suction.

I think I'd probably turn down one of these Roomba's even if it was offered @ $100, that's just how bad they are in comparison to the newer tech.

I wouldnt say its really, really bad

Its a pretty good entry model robot vac for a good price from a well known brand. Im not saying that the Xiaomi one isnt better (i know it is) - but I've had this irobot for a number of years. It is rock solid and parts can be found very cheaply online.

This vac is perfect for those who want to steer clear of what they may perceive to be a less, well known chinese brand.

      • It's definitely not a terrible vacuum standing by itself, but it's bad nowadays compared to what's on the market as it's become so crazily competitive.

I realise my earlier comment was a bit mean toward the OP, who's trying to help us out, but I couldn't recommend the Xiaomi one enough and would hate to see people go with the "familiar" Roomba just because their name seems to coincide with robotic vacuums as they were the trend setters at the beginning.

Nowadays, virtually everyone has a robot vac out in some shape or form and the competition is fierce and I feel this one has been very much left in the dust (pardon the pun).

My one banged into literally everything and got stuck under every chair or stool and just made a huge racket and ended up vacuuming half the area because it got stuck and timed out.

But regards the brands, as a whole, Xiaomi is much bigger and well known brand than Roomba and their parts are also found very cheap online (maybe even cheaper than the Roombas).

I agree with everything you're saying.

  • I'll give you $100 for it!

  • Any link to the Xiaomi model being discussed?
