If your app is glitchy, close it, clear cache AND data, and log in again. If it seems to log you out, close the app (clear it out of the running processes), and you should be logged in when you open it again. This if for Android, not sure if the same will work for iOS. You can also use the 'Scan' option to order instore at the self-serve kiosks.

$5 small McFeast meal can now be ordered through the app. The product image says 10:30am-2:00pm, but since it replaces the normal small meal like what the golden meal offers did, I'd assume you'd be able to order it at any time through the app. You can also swap out the ingredients to turn it into a small McChicken meal for $4.55, or a small meatless salad burger meal for $2.75.

    MyMaccas is a crap. It never works for me. Always I had to explained the siuation to the staff. I went to several places and still they are not that much familier with the app. They say whatever come to their mouth. But I was able to use the ealier vouchers using the 'Scan feature' with spending at least 15mts with them.

    • Works just fine with me … at 2 different places. It has to connect to the resturant, download their menu, turn on the gps, make sure you're close… so complicated. Maybe u need a better phone.

        its not that complicated its just very buggy. sometimes when right inside it will say im not close enough to order and other times the menus will only show milshakes, this is on a new sony phone.

        • Well then your gps isn't accurate or you need to wait longer for it to pick up more satellites… stand outside.

          No, its the app. I was getting the "you aren't close enough to the store" message. But on the map (in the app) it was showing me literally in the store. The little blue dot (ie me!) was directly over the Maccas store. I showed the customer rep who called a Manager, and they just laughed and commented on how crap the app had been…

          Hence why I gave up and uninstalled the app.

    • The only problem with it for me is that it crashes literally every minute. I have anywhere from 10-90 seconds to complete and pay for my order, otherwise, the app will crash and my order will delete itself… So frustrating.

    Good deal, but it's embarrassing just how bad their Android app is. It's currently rated 1.9/5.0 and that score is still dropping.

    It's hard to believe that a huge company like mickey dees can't even create a decent app. The KFC app has been perfect in comparison.

      It's genuinely amazing how much better the iOS app is. I reckon they made it for iOS and have attempted to port it over, failing badly.

      • Mine constantly crashes on my iPhone 6+ (with latest iOS software). Mine crashed once before I got a confirmation that my order went through. Opened the app, it said my previous order was like a week ago. So put the order through again. Later after I left Macca's, I saw I had 2 emails saying my orders were both successful.

          I don't think McDonald's counts as 'very cheap' in Australia. Some might say it's even 'middle class' food.

          I think even some of the chinese take-outs in my area are better value and more filling than a standard $10 Maccas meal. A box of Char-siew rice for e.g is $10.50 and comes with a drink and more meat than a quarter pounder burger.

  • i just walk to the counter and also ask for hot chips from a fresh batch rather than the warm soggy ones …… love the mcfeat small meals for $5 ….. not sure how fresh the meal would be using the app at a busy time …..

    All I have in my App is the Shakes & Frappes menu :/ everything else disappeared

  • This + twenty $1 hamburgers "and a pack of single slice cheese" = A feast for a king .. shame the App doesn't work though, 2 weeks ago i pre-ordered before i arrived and then arrived there to find the order didnt go through, sat in the store to do it all again and it still didnt work, Waste of fuel & time

  • Went to McD yesterday… waited till 10:30am, took about 10 attempts but got an order placed with drive-thru. Stupid app kept crashing! Anyway, then drove the 3 minutes to the McD and drive-thru, told them order number and they said it didn't exist so i should just re-order!!! Didn't realise $5 McFeast wasn't app exclusive - otherwise I wouldn't have bothered!!

    Didn't work for me. I could see the 25%. Applied to order and then checked out but before fully processing the order through, I'd get a "there was an error placing your order. Place your order at the counter". I tried 3 times on my Amex with the same message then thought it was a CC problem. Switched to Mastercard and tried that but same msg. Counter wouldn't help. Ordered the old fashioned way without the discount.

    When I got home I checked my Amex and Mastercard online and I've been charged the failed orders. Totalling under $40. Maccas can't do anything about it. Don't know who to call. I'll have to chargeback.

    • Few weeks ago I was instore trying to place an order and had the same issue. A maccas staff member walked over to me and asked if I placed an order. Apparently my 6 attempts all went through successfully. Luckily my credit card app shows the charges straight away so they refunded me in cash on the spot for the other 5 orders. Pretty insane the way their system works

      • I placed an order for drive-thru pick up yesterday and they couldn't find the order.. I put my AMEX, got an order number and everything… BUT, they only charge your credit card when you go to pick up your order and they process it… so I wasn't charged even though the order failed. Maybe its iOS? Maybe its drive-thru?

          Yep if you select drive thru they only charge once you are there and they confirm the order with you. If you select to pickup in store, then they will charge you straight away

    • Same thing happened to me but they all got instantly reversed, this doesn't seem to work.

      • Mine didn't get reversed. 3 are still showing as pending on my CC. I got through to a manager at the store. She didnt know but said she'd find out what can be done and call me before 4pm.

        • Update: No call and no resolution from Maccas. I'm a bit shocked at their CS.

    Yup, worst app EVER! Pretty sure they never beta tested it before rolling it out because it simply doesn't work good. Anyone could have told them that.

    My local store even has huge banners out the front advertising the app. They need to bring back the Golden Meals to reward (compensate) the people persevering with their time-suck of an app.

  • The app worked once for me, but after that it consistently fails to download the menu on any type of connection - be it wifi at home/ maccas or 4g. I literally have only one item on the regular menu. I can't imagine it being a phone issue.

    I have never had a problem with the app and used it a few times with the various golden meal promotions.

    The 25% off didn't stack with the McFeast offer though even after spending $10.

  • Nothing shows up for me, tried closing, clearing cache and even uninstalling app. Nothing shows up on the front page, even when I go to order it still shows up as normal price

    I cleared the data and cache of the app and now the menu is showing. Thanks to the tips above :)

    Going to use the reward during the weekend.

  • Such a bad app i tried using it twice with this deal on 2 separate phones. Both times got all the way to the checkout out the end and both times it said it wasn't possible and to go and order in store lol. Tried it again without the 25% off on a cheap order and it didn't even work then so its not the deal its just the app is (profanity). Uninstalled it on both phones and will never get it again. I won't neg this as the deal is fine as long as the app works. Maybe its not as bad on an iPhone but its infuriating on android. Stupid thing wont even remember your login details… omg I could go on but who ever is on charge of it should be fired ASAP lol

    FYI, there's a lot of noise in Asia due to a claim that a child under the age of 5 ate a burger from McDonald's which had a beef patty that was undercooked due to the employee cooking more patties on the grill than stipulated on the official guideline from McDonald's. The child allegedly developed haemolytic-uraemic syndrome from E-Coli infection and later died.
    Take what you will from it.

      Yep it works between 10:30am-2pm daily in the app.

    is there somewhere i can actually complain about this? as a developer myself im gobsmacked at how the biggest beast in the food industry could release a piece of shit software like this. this is first year uni level side hobby (profanity) around work that they released to millions. I have to clear my cache/data each time i use this app so it actually functions well enough to get to the checkout, and its been like this for months now.

    • Nope, they didn't outsource it like KFC did with NCR.

      I feel your pain, who ever is in control of this App project just needs to be sacked, including the people below him/her for letting it to get to this release stage.

  • Got 2 small mcfeast for $7.50 at 7pm. Awesome value.

  • Added my amex card and it took $1 payment without any warning

    • It will be refunded within a week. It's a Credit Check/Hold, happens at most Hotels etc.

  • This would be a great deal if the app worked. I ordered my dinner and sent my husband to pick it up. It was slow to use the app but came up with the 25% off eventually so I confirmed order. When my husband got there the order was only for $6 basically the "sides" if the order. The girl at drive thru said the app has been having issues. My husband had to reorder but couldn't use the 25% off as it had already been used (but it hadn't because the first order was under $10 so it had no discount.)

    The manager could only give 20% off and offered free dessert (but we had already ordered the desserts -at the counter because they couldn't get the app to work- so this was no use for us).

    This is the second time I have been bitten by the app - first time was a "golden" meal where my app wouldn't recognise I was in store. Luckily that time they let me order at the counter for the same price as the app.
