    Counterfeit

Yeah nah, these 3rd party controllers aren't worth $1 let alone $11.

  • damn I thought there was a bargain here

  • Does it work with breath of the wild? Also why the negativity? Do they break easy?

    • It's not the official Nintendo Controller. Not worth the price. But it might work I guess

Hows it counterfeit when they're not claiming they're made by Nintendo.
They've only said they're compatible with a WiiU.

Heaps of people buy spurious PS2 and PS3 controllers so I don't see the difference here?

You get them cheap, they usually work, but their quality is rarely particularly good… but you kinda know exactly what you're getting.

    • No, after market controllers are always bad. They never work at the same. It has nothing to do with the fact it will break after 3 months. It is nothing like the original.

      • Well, that may be your experience…

I have 2 real PS3 controllers and 2 copies and the copies are about 80% similar to the Sony ones, only difference being the feedback is not as good in the copies and they cheaper - but they still function just as well as the Sony ones.

I haven't ventured into WiiU copies yet, so I can't comment on these exact ones, but my point was that these aren't "counterfeit" and also that copies are not immediately considered shit - they usually come pretty close, for a fraction of the price.

If only 1 or 2 people use the console in the house and you just want to get maybe 1 or 2 more in the event you've friends calling over, buying some cheapo copies is sometimes the best option considering they'll barely get used.

        • OK fair enough. If you can get copies that work well go for it. In my experience a non genuine game controller is something that will be replaced within a few months. Dont you recall the genuine alwasy been for player one and player two got the shitty logitech 6 button controller and had to play tails.

        • @Expon: Haha, yeah true - I usually get these as either spares or for just extra controllers in the off chance there's 3 of 4 people looking to play.

I'd agree that there's nothing that beats the genuine controllers.

That being said, I did get heaps of fake Wii controllers though years ago and they were literally just as good as Nintendo's … but they're probably the most simplistic controller to make I would of imagined.

Some of the best controllers for each system are after market controllers. Depends on the brand. In this case, it's a $12 controller as opposed to $70, and you can't even find the $70 ones being sold in "new" condition at the moment in stores.

    • Hows it counterfeit when they're not claiming they're made by Nintendo.

Normally when it's 3rd party (like HORI or Mad Catz) they distinguish the controller in a way that the consumer can clearly tell it's not the original.

These are an exact duplicate of Nintendo's version, which is intended to fool the unwitting consumer into believing it's a genuine one.

The difference is that one is open and honest about it, the other is trying to mislead you, while not outright claiming to be original, it counts on people being careless and not investigating further into it, and instead assuming it's legit.

      Thus counterfeit.

  • dont waste your money on this crap

  • Big difference in battery… 500mAh (these) VS 1300mAh (official).

  • Man, I would have loved this like 3 or 4 years ago.

Guess that 20 bucks I spent on a legit one from Cashies back in early 2014 will have to do.
