Cadbury Twisted (45g Creme Egg Choc Bar) 59c at Woolworths (Save $1.40)

320

While laughing at the fact that they were putting stocks of Christmas decorations (!) on the shelves at Woolworths (Yes, it's that special day of the year that now lasts three months, Christmas) I came across this.

Cadbury Twisted (45g Creme Egg Chocolate Bar) 59c each at Woolworths (Save $1.40). These are the Cadbury UK made product presumably introduced for test marketing here. They are just like the expensive chocolate creme eggs (Often promoted at Easter) but in a bar and now heavily reduced (possibly to clear).

I have seen fair amount of stock at this price in several Woolworths stores in VIC so probably available widely.

  • These things are delicious. Last I saw they were down to 99c at Dickson, ACT Woolworths. But when I went there last night I didn't see them next to the checkout where they were before.

  • YAY! I love Christmas almost as much as I love chocolate. This is like a 2 for 1 :)

  • Could not get closer to selling Glucose bars if they tried, alas are nice!
Shall be checking my local Woolies this weekend.

  • What's so funny about 3 months? It's not like they did it after Easter

  • I tried one when they first appeared over here for $2, and it was pretty terrible. Still a good bargain though for those with terrible taste in chocolate bars :P

Hell, even I'm tempted to give it another try!

  • Hehe, supermarkets seem to put up stuff from Christmas, Australia Day, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas. Wonder if I missed anything else. St Patrick's Day in March maybe?

Still, 59c is a bargain to give something new a go. Thanks for the post. :)

If they are the same as the creme eggs I'll be a happy buyer. Tried those creme eggs during Easter this year and they were absolutely delicious! Will definitely be checking it out at Woolies tomorrow.

  • Yeah, I seen it same price at Chester Hill NSW woolies. Its a bargain.
Same taste as the eggs. Use by date are mainly 12/2010. But you would eat them before that.

    • Mine are Jan 2011. Lucky if there are any left in my house after two weeks ;-)

They were released as a normal chocolate bar line after cadbury realised how well their creame egg range sold when they bring them out each Easter.

So they aren't 'left overs', just a bar that they saturated the stores with that haven't sold as well as expected.

  • I saw these earlier in the week at my local Woolies but was reluctant to post as I thought it was just a local promo to clear excess stock, but it seems to be in different states. YAY!!

At this price you really can't go past them for your chocolate fix and for those of you that are wondering yes they are the same taste as the Creme eggs you see at Easter.

  • My local David Jones store was putting up the Christmas display when i was in there on Sept 2nd.
I think they start doing it when September hits. Ridiculous. That's about 30% of the whole year that christmas is being sold.

  • Got 5 bars from Woolies today and just tried one, but I think the eggs are actually better! This one tastes a bit odd actually (can't really describe what's wrong with it)

Still, at 59c it's a bargain :D Will probably compare this to those 29c bars from Aldi since I bought one of those too.

    • stick them in the fridge or freezer

      • than coat them in batter and deep fry them

  • 9th October and I just bought 6 of them from Woolworths in Mudgeeraba (Gold Coast) for 59c each so the deal is still on…

Down from $1.99 which is ridiculously expensive for a 45g chocolate bar but makes this a definite bargain.

  • These were 40cents each at Woolies yesterday. I bought 2, but considering going back and buying a box at that price!

  • Went to Woolworths Dickson (ACT) a week or so ago and got 11 at 59c each. :) Went back on Tuesday. There was no pricetag on the shelf any more. No special price, no regular price. I just grabbed one with my groceries. Forgot I'd done that, got home, found it in one of my bags. Yay! Checked the reciept and it was back to $1.99! Felt very ripped off. No chocolate bar is worth $2. :(
