Please stop posting that, it's an advertisement for Kidspot which is owned by News Corp.

      • +9

Love how people neg something that's factual.

Kidspot is owned by News Corp, that page is nothing more than to funnel people to the website.

Some people are so gullible these days.

        • What's wrong with Kidspot? The point is the vacuum has fairly good reviews. K-Marts return policy is great so just return if it sucks.
I don't see how Newscorp sharing an article of one of it's sub-publications on it's main site means we're not allowed to read the content…

        • So the comments on the vacuum aren't valid cause its from kidspot?

Nothing wrong with Kidspot, but that page doesn't tell you a thing about the vacuum, only several anecdotes and no detail.

          It's not a review, it's merely advertising.

          @Scab:

Fair enough. so your beef is its branded content.

I thought you had some objection to Kidspot.

I am aware it's branded content, and should be taken with a grain of salt, although it refers to external sources who are happy with the product. It's not like the testimonies are from Kmart themselves.

          @evocable:

So the comments on the vacuum aren't valid cause its from kidspot?

Not because it's from Kidspot, but because it doesn't tell you a thing about the product.

No detail about the good and bad, just a few brief anecdotes.

And the best bit is: "And it sells for just $89, according to Kidspot".

The author, who is from Kidspot, could have just stated it's $89 from Kmart, but no, it's according to Kidspot and a link.

After reading that advertisement I'm none the wiser on the vacuum.

        • @edshays:

so your beef is its branded content.

Not at all, my problem is people posting it as if it were some sort of review.

Had they gone into detail about the product I wouldn't have cared less about the advertising or the parent company.

        • @edshays:

          return if it sucks

If it sucks, I'd keep it!

I read that people are raving about this as a very cheap alternative to Dyson vacuum cleaners. However, this is the RRP and therefor not a bargain.

Edit: Yes, looks like the poster above beat me.

  • edit: Edshays beat me to the link :)

  • +3

my friend compared this with her Dyson, similar power but far more cheaper

    • +5

      Nice try, Rupert!

    OzRRP

    • +1

Youre acting like you come here for a bargain or something

  • +3

    Advertising =(

  • +7

As t3chshopper stated, this is the standard RRP

  • +2

News article claiming people are saying its more powerful than Dyson. I guess being a cheap vacuum you have to see how long it will last as we had a Dyson that was over 10 years old and still running. But at $89, it's a good price unless it breaks down every year after warranty up.

    • It's not a "news article", it's News Corp advertising their Kidspot website.

    • +1

More powerful than a 10 year old Dyson. Which deserves the no shit sherlock award for the week.

      • Did I say it was more powerful than a 10 year old Dyson. I said on the article people are claiming it to be more powerful than Dyson. When I said 10 years its more on comparison whether the Kmart vacuum will last that long. Read carefully Sherlock.

        • No the article did, the quote in the article was comparing it to a 10 year old dyson.
          News Limited being news limited

        • @Flyingmoo: Did you even read the article. There is no reference on it comparing to a 10 year old Dyson. Just a person saying they used the Kmart vacuum after vacuuming the carpet with a Dyson and a lot more dirt was picked up with the Kmart vacuum. No mentioned of the age of the Dyson.

        • +1

@j1568: Sorry it was in this article that i saw doing the rounds on facebook.
          http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-4702546/The-mums-s…

"'So I replaced my Dyson which I have had for nine years and is falling apart and I will admit I'm loving the Kmart vacuum,' one mum shared to the group."

    • +7

When our Dyson died 3 times within warranty, we got a refund, and bought a bosch. The Bosch was a few hundred bucks cheaper, but man it sucked so hard, it almost ripped up the carpet. Picked up things the dyson could never pick up. It was at that point I realised that Dyson have a good marketing team…

  • +1

Sure it might have good suction for a while, however it's bound to fail after a year or less i reckon. also its RRP…

    • That's what he said! On a serious note it looks like it could be heavy and bulky.

  • +6

Yes, it is RRP. However, apparently it's been difficult to find in stock. If people are allowed to post NES Classic Mini posts that are RRP, then why not this?

  • Not in stock at Kmart, anywhere.

  • +3

We got told to tell customers that it won't be in until mid august, it's sold out everywhere.

    • +8

Great work to your content marketing team! That news.com.au advertorial really resonated with your customers.

      • +3

I was just giving a heads up to anyone who wanted to know.

        • +1

No worries, I was just being facetious for anyone that wanted a giggle.

  • +3

K-mart in Belconnen, ACT can't even supply shopping bags, let alone stock. The vacuum cleaner on display looked like it would be damaged easily.

    • Im surprised nobody has flogged the display one yet! lol

  • Not a bargain RRP.

  • +3

Cheap manufacturing, won't last. $89 a year is far more expensive than $500 every 10 years.

  • +1

$90 for a no brand vacuum that's normal RRP? If anything it seems overpriced. No bargain here. If it was a Dyson for $90 it would be.

  • +6

    Cheap Kmart Crap.

Give me a Miele any day of the week.

  • Is this vacuum cordless?

    • +4

If it is, the cord storage hook seems like it may go to waste :P

      • O hh.. wasn't sure what that was… lol

  • +2

    News.com.au: 1

Sheeple who believe everything they read: 0

  • It's all K-Mart Mums of Facebook's fault.

But yes, it's standard price so hard to call it a deal.

  • +2

Lol SOLD out. People would believe anything

  • +1

    I don't see this as a bargain.

  • Going off recent purchases from kmart dont expect it to last very long, the quality of goods has gone downhill so bad that its all complete rubbish now

  • Bought a twin can vac from aldi about 7 years ago from aldi for $69

Brilliant , still going strong that sucks up the finest of dirt no problems

    • Aldi vacuum cleaners are so hit and miss, depends on the batch.

      • So very true , i havent seen the same one again , fwiw its 2400 watts with a vac powered head so works great sucking up the finest of dust , i cant see how a 1200 watt vac ia going to be so great
